         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Phoneme Substitution: </em><br>Changing one sound from one word to create a new word. <strong><br></strong><em>Phoneme Machine Activity:</em><br>The teacher will give each student a hand out with an input and output machine. The students will use letter cards or magnets with this worksheet. The teacher will write a word on the board. This is the input. Next, the teacher writes an equation on how to change the word to make it something new. (ex: cat -c + p = pat) The students must form the new word and place it on the output of the machine. </div>]]></description>

The teacher will provide the student with a rime, then the student will use an onset to add to the rime and create a new word. </div>]]></description>

This interactive game, allows students to practice the sounds of words by matching it with other words that have the same starting sound. When a student matches the correct ones, the game says the word out for the student. </div>]]></description>
