_{Desk pets are small animal-shaped erasers that students “adopt” and keep in little homes on their desks, and they serve as both a fun classroom companion and an engaging management tool. Students earn “Pet Points” for following rules, completing work, and showing kindness, which they can then use to buy food, accessories, or even adopt more pets. This enforces positive behavior, responsibility, and goal setting while also creating opportunities to integrate pets into lessons—such as counting in math, writing stories in language arts, or exploring animals in science. Desk pets not only bring joy and excitement to the classroom, but they also support social-emotional growth and academic learning in a playful and meaningful way.}
