This was a set of hip hop songs which was a good way to push me out of my comfort zone as I had only really performed song in more of a rock style with bands. I had always wanted to perform this genre and it shows a willingness to try new things and grow as a performer.

This artifact has been included to show my ability to perform in front of a bigger audience. The audience for this show was over 100 people and by remembering technique and preparing for the song I was singing, I managed to perform for the audience and put on a good show.

Being able to perform in front of larger audience shows a confidence in my abilities. This is a skill vital for a performer and the goal is to continue doing gigs and hopefully achieve larger crowds.

In the first song, I did lead vocals which was a great opportunity to start the set and set the tone. I then did backing vocals for the next 3 songs, and played keys for our 3rd song. Another great opportunity to practice playing my second study instrument with a band. Finally I sang lead for our 5th song and backing vocals for our last.

This performance also shows a contrast to what was performed in the group assessment. This collection of songs was mainly pop music with hip hop, country and/or ballad element and juxtaposes the more "rock-centric" sound of the group performance. This was a good way of showing that I am able to perform different genres and perform them in a way suited to them.

I also wanted to point out that I am able to be recorded onto a track and able to perform in a session situation to create audio content. While this might not be the most important skill for a performer its gives me the ability to release music that can entice people to come to shows I put on.
