Habitat
Wasps make their nest from grass, wood, paper and bark.  Wasps nests are found underground, in trees and cold dark places.

Stingers
Male wasps don’t have stingers.  Solitary wasps reserve their stinging abilities for hunting food.  Females can sting over and over again.

Queen
The queen wasp can live from 2-5 years.  Only the queen wasp can survive winter.  In autumn all the wasps die except for a few new queens.  There can only be 1 queen per nest.

Wasps get their protein from meat (not nectar like bees.)  Wasps are found everywhere but Antarctica because it is too cold.  There are over 75,000 different species of wasp.
