Cameron inferred that because he stated he didn't have supper, he did not have a stable and supportive family. If he did, he would be at home eating supper with his family instead of trying to steal her purse. Also, he was grabbing her purse for money to buy blue suede shoes. If his parents were stable, they would give him the money to buy the shoes himself.

Imani had a out of the box/ orginal answer. She think that Roger was incabpable of saying thank you because he was probably never raised to say thank you or he didnt have any manners. She thinks that if he was raised with manners, he wouldnt steal.  This is why he didn say Thank You at the end to Mrs. Jones.

Jacqulyne's thinking was that it's really upsetting, it’s not their fault their parents didn’t take good care of them, or couldn’t care for them. Also, she wouldn't change the ending because it makes people think about how this can actually happen in real life.

I can connect what she said with my response to the same question, I answered that the story shows how important it's to show/teach generosity and empathy to kids.
