The aircrafts are roaring overhead. The constant noise is driving me insane. Theres too much noise between the machineguns the bombs and the aircrafts I can barely hear anything. The aircrafts must just be observing up there.

A tank just rolled over us, good thing we have the best trenches to hide in. If I weren't in my trench I would've been killed by that superman of a machine. The French may have better machines but we have better strategies. P.S don't make us bring out that poision gas.

the poison gas is filling up my lungs, I can't breathe and it feels like someone is choking me so tight to the point I feel like I am going to pass out; and as the tanks pass by me it causes the ground to vibrate,leading to the ground shaking and my body shaking.

The bodies cover as much as the tranches as the water does, and because of that, it reeks. Although the lingering smell of poison gas probably adds to that smell. Our call to Mexico for help from Zimmermann was intercepted, so it will probably take longer to sign that vile Treaty of Versailles. "safety" in the eastern front does not exist. us soldiers are tired and this war needs to end. I'm trying to go home asap, I hope they go through with the Christmas truce because I have family at home.

At first when I got drafted for war, I was excited to fight for my country and people, but I learned shortly that one should never be excited for excruciating war. I got deployed on the homefront to fight and I saw so many horrors. The things I saw were horrific to young 17-year-old me. I saw comrades get hit with poison gas and how it would melt and make bubbles on their faces: it was horrific. That's when I knew that this war would be horrible and that they can't get close, but ohhhh how wrong I was. They started coming in this battle made brute car like thing called tanks. I was scarred for life and after seeing so much death I always thought that I'd be next. I curse this damned war and hope that one day this will come to an end.

It's been a week here in the western front. My feet are frozen to the point I can't almost feel them. My friends aren't with me anymore. A grenade landed in our trench and All I could do was watch. We should've never fell for the propaganda, because now I don't know whether I'll be breathing tomorrow.

#WOW!!!! What a war it has been, rats eating peoples ears, fungus all in my feet. I can't wait to go home! at least we had the Christmas truce, that was fun. The allies have been fighting hard, but we have been fighting harder and I even got word that the central powers destroyed one of the allied convoys yesterday! Our moral is low on both sides of the war but I know we must persist because if we don't they will, and if they do, we will lose this war. I will be coming home soon enough so make sure to buy war bonds so I can come home faster. #iwanttogohome#IJustGotShot._.

Everybody in the home front are getting destroyed, we haven't heard from them or seen them, they're throwing poison gas at us, we wont servive here any longer, they're going to gas us out. Propaganda is hiding the filth and the fear of world war 1, the posters are promising glory , but the trenches are otherwise as they are full of rats, gas, mud and endless shelling
