After searching a murder crime scene for evidence, a CSI c across some trace evidence. This trace evidence is best to be analyzed through a transmission electron microscope (TEM). Through evaluating the evidence, so much more could be discovered - including the time of death! Without a TEM, it would be a lot harder to analyze evidence, especially ones as vague as trace evidence can be at a crime scene.
