Hera, also known as Juno, was the goddess of marriage, women, and childbirth. She was the wife and sister of Zeus. and the queen of Olympian gods. Her parents were Cronus and Rhea, the Titan-King and Queen of the Gods. Hera's main role was to protect married women, but she's also known for the aid of child-bearing. Her symbols were the diadem, or diamond crown, the lotus-staff, and the cuckoo, and she favored the city of Argos. Her sacred animals were the lion, the cow, and especially the peacock, which symbolizes her beauty, luxury, and immortality.

Hera and Trojan War

Hera played an essential role in the Trojan War. This involves the Judgement of Paris, which is a contest between the three most beautiful goddesses: Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. At a banquet, Eris, the goddess of discord, stated that the fairest goddess of Olympus would have a golden apple. Paris, a Trojan prince, was chosen to decide whom shall receive the apple. Although Hera offered him power and Athena offered him wisdom, he was swayed by Aphrodite and chose her, who offered Helena, King Menelaus's wife. This had led to the Trojan War. Meanwhile, Hera, unsatisfied with the result, had revenged Paris by sided with the Greeks and did everything she can to defeat Troy. Thus, this led to the fall of Troy.
