Dr Tham Wai Jia, founder of Kitesong Global, conducted a kite making session for our residents on Wednesday, reminding them that although their "kite strings" may appear to have broken because of their Covid diagnosis, they can still hold on to their dreams and fulfil them.

Our residents shared their dreams & heartaches very candidly, encouraging one another to hold on to their dreams, to tie up those kite strings again and fly those kites high after they leave.

This Kitesong is not just for our residents. What about us? What dreams do we have? Do we still fly our kites even when the winds are down or when our kites get entangled in unexpected obstacles? Let's learn from our residents to pick up the kites of our lives and let them soar high again.

]]> 2020-07-24 02:42:29 UTC https://padlet.com/hpsp123/v09guatd20jwagq4/wish/661546374 Parting is such sweet sorrow https://padlet.com/hpsp123/v09guatd20jwagq4/wish/665873259 I think I speak for many of us when I say that it's a bittersweet moment for us when Expo "shuts down".  Happy that our resident numbers are falling, which is good for our foreign workers, but sad that we're "breaking up" and returning to our motherships.  The friendships and camaraderie (and the food!) forged in Expo are deep and enduring and I've learnt so much from so many of you about such incredibly diverse topics ranging from calorie counts, to politics (yes, before GE2020), life in private practice, med education, and the moral dimension of medicine (101% agree). I think I learned to be kinder, to appreciate our good fortune to be surrounded by a nurturing community, and that our healthcare community is one that is blessed with strength and purpose. Thank you and I hope we will all continue to spread light to others in our myriad paths through life.

My short month here in CCF expo with SGH is filled with long lasting happy memories
As we locums, took care of the patients here, SGH took care of us, fed us well, and treated us like family. 
It is truly, placing people, at the heart of what they do. 
No words can convey my heartfelt thanks to all the angels who helped us doctors and assisted us tirelessly in sickbays, to all the SGH leads and doctors who helped made the journey in expo so much more bearable and enjoyable, and to all the fellow locums and seniors who showed kindness and help where needed. 
Truly a big big family indeed. 
Once again, thank you and memories in expo will be one that I will treasure for years to come.

It’s been slightly More than a week ago since I left EXPO....I must congratulate the leaders from Medical, Nursing, Patient Experience, OPS, MA, RWS for the wonderful holistic care that were given to the Residents and Angels during the time spent in EXPO. It was a wonderful eye opening experience for me that everyone played a significant role in providing the care for the Residents! As Angels, I felt that our leaders looked into the welfare for each and everyone of us! Though I was there for 6 weeks, I had a great time, always looking forward to going to work😊

It was also an honour to be able to care for our MW as they have done so much in building Singapore! My deepest gratitude to them and I hope they get well, stay COVID free and stay healthy for many more years!

I really salute everyone and am really proud that we were a part of this family !

With the support from my husband, I was determined to do both. When first deployed to Expo in May, my immediate supervisor asked if I would like to be housed in a temporary lodging arrangement. I declined it as I was still breastfeeding my baby and cannot imagine being away from him. 

I must say my many thanks to our IPE nurses for always coming up with ways to safeguard us! From re-arranging the way we don on and doff off our PPE (it started as same exit and entry site for each hall - which led to overcrowding and mixing of ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ angels) to constant reminders of hand hygiene. 

Also! My personal thanks to Yee Pin for arranging an exlcusive fridge just for me to store my expressed breastmilk at the resting area at Max Atria. I truly appreciate it. 

Who knew that you can successfully express milk and return to direct latch your baby everynight whilst serving Covid positive residents @ CCF! 

A month has since passed since I left Expo and baby and I are healthy and fit. 

We can fight this virus together if we are more vigilant and play our part to observe personal hygiene!
