         <description><![CDATA[<div>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO1tzmi1V5g<br><br>The Ancient Egyptian civilization lated for 3000 years . Before the empire it was split into city states around the Nile River. It was split into 2 different regions being Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. In 3100 BC both region united. There were 3 major periods. The Old Kingdom, The Middle Kingdom, and The New Kingdom. There were about 300 pharaohs . The pharaohs didn't have to be Egyptian of male and were called "protecters of the people." After the pharaohs died they are thought to be as Gods. They would build tombs for them to rest in. They would fill their tombs with all the necessary items for the afterlife. They would also be mummified so there bodies could be animated. In mathematics they designed a measuring systems called the Cubit which is the arm to the fingertips. They combined astronomy and mathematics to create the 24 hour day and made the solar calendar. Hieroglyphs have over 700 pictorial letters. Hieratic is another writing system derived from hieroglyphs.It served a more functional purpose. The papyrus paper came from the papyrus plant. The ancient Egypt empire finally came to an end after series of invasions from Rome and Persia.</div>]]></description>

And also gave protection and spiritual strength. the Nile river extends for more than 4100 miles cutting across Africa making it the largest river in the world. From 6000 to 8000 Bc people began permanently settling near The Nile River. By 3500 Bc Egyptians used millimeters to track The Nile River. People began to notice the cycles of The Nile. There were 3 cycles being Akhet, Peret, and Shemu. In Akhet the Nile flooded, in Peret is growing season, in Shemu they harvested the crops. Grain was used to make Bread, Porridge, and Beer which was used to sustain life back then. Farmers also grew cotton, beans, flax, and papyrus. By 3100 BC canals and dams appeared to channel the water throughout the valley. The shadow was used to move water from one channel to another and to put water in fields farther out. The Nile was the main source of travel through the region. Egyptians used to trade with themselves before the United Kingdom. They also traded with Nubians and many other societies because of The Nile. The Nile was also a source of fun and recreation. Crocodiles and hippos live in the Nile to make thongs more dangerous.</div>]]></description>
