Using a digital recording device, i tracked my daily movements for 7 days. I then transcribed the digital voice notes and used them to compile a view of my time management for the week. This information has been analyzed to identify any weakness's or time wasters. During the experiment 2 variables showed up unexpectedly. The first unexpected variable was the necessity to remember to carry the recording device with me at all times. The device was accidently left behind several times during events such as my kids theatrical performance on day 9 and the minimal use of recording on day 10 (mothers day). The second unexpected variable i experienced was i threw out my back out on day 4 of the experiment, having a major effect on my movements and time management. Upon analyzing the data collected, I have come to the conclusion that the data in the experiment is unreliable and invalid. The reliability of the experiment was affected by the unexpected variables, as a result the experiments results can not be exactly replicated. The unexpected variables also affected the validity of the experiment. The data collected is not an accurate account of my day to day movements on a regular 7 day period.

The “Big 5” personality test.

Personality tests are used to collect information about what differentiates one person from another and why we behave the way that we do.

In the big 5 test you compare yourself to someone you are close to. So being as I used my mom for my secondary subject, I shared the results with her. Both of us looked at the results together and discussed them. We both agree that the “Big 5” personality test was very accurate.

The Big 5 Test was a series of questions that you answer using a scale of 1-5. 1 being “Strongly Disagree” and 5 being “Strongly Agree”. This test requires you not only to rate yourself, but to rate someone else as well. By rating yourself and someone else simultaneously, the results are more accurate. Comparing yourself to someone else usually results in more honest answers. I believe the experiment is Valid. The test very accurately assesses the specific concept the researchers are trying to trying to measure, In this case “Personality”. I also believe the experiment is reliable. Even when the test is repeated, the results are only minutely different.

My strengths are I enjoy having novel experiences and seeing things in new ways, and I am neither particularly social or reserved, I’m right in the middle. My short comings are, I find it easy to criticize, I tend to become anxious or nervous, and I am messy/ disorganized

Classical conditioning was used to develop the routine of making my bed and washing a load of laundry every morning An alarm was set for 9:30am. Upon the alarm sounding I consciously made my bed and put a load of laundry in. When the task is completed, I am rewarded with TV/Relax time. Progressively over 10 days I was able to condition my self to make my bed when I wake up in the morning. The attempt to do laundry was unsuccessful. The act of "doing" laundry consists of a series of tasks ( Loading the washer, moving the laundry to the dryer, and putting the laundry away) with random variables (weather their is enough laundry to wash or not). Day # 6, the act of doing laundry was removed from the experiment to create a higher reliability and Validity. Conclusion: I was able to successfully use Pavlov's theory of classic conditioning to condition myself to make my bed when I wake up in the morning. This goal was important because it fulfills my need to achieve at least one task for the day and can often lead to the motivation to complete additional tasks.
