Here, we celebrate Easter because we celebrate Jesus Christ coming back on the third day!

It's celebrated in the spring and I think it fits perfectly because the weather is so warm and pleasant... what else would you want on a celebration? Oh and I hope everybody has an AMAZING SUPER COOL WONDERFUL spring breaaaaaaak! :)))) Weeeeheeeee

Easter is one of the most important holidays in Romania. For me, it is a very beautiful time when the family gathers and we spend time together. On Saturday night we go to church for the Resurrection service and receive light, and people greet each other by saying “Christ has risen!”, with the reply “Truly He has risen!”.

I also really like the traditions. Before Easter we dye eggs, usually red, and on Easter day we tap them together at the table. There are many traditional foods on the table, such as cozonac and pasca. For me, Easter is a holiday full of joy, traditions, and moments spent with family. 😊

On Saturday night, people go to church with candles. At midnight, the priest says “Christ is risen”, and people answer “He is risen indeed”. Then they take the light home.

On Sunday, families gather together. They eat, play with the eggs, and celebrate with joy.

On Saturday night, they attend church and greet each other with “Christ is Risen.” On Sunday, families gather for a festive meal with sweet bread and painted eggs. A popular tradition is tapping eggs, where the strongest egg is believed to bring health and luck.

On Easter Sunday, we stay at home and spend time together. We have a big meal with things like eggs, lamb, cozonac, and other traditional food. Before we eat, we knock eggs together and say “Christ is risen!” and “He is risen indeed!”

Sometimes our relatives visit us and my sister and I also receive sweets and gifts from the Easter Bunny.

I love spring! The weather is neither cold nor warm; it’s perfect. I love to go outside with my friends because, as I said, the mild weather is just right for a walk in the park. I love those flowers that grow in spring—the vibrant colors and the sweet scent in the air. I just love everything about this season! On Maundy Thursday we dye eggs red, make buns and the Holy Saturday we make magieritsa. On Saturday evening we go to church and at 12 o'clock in the evening the resurrection of Christ takes place and we exchange wishes with each other by saying "Christ has risen" ,with the reply "Truly he has risen".

Also, we do fast from meat and dairy products.

To begin with, on Holy Thursday we dye some eggs red. The red color symbolises Christ's blood and when we crack the eggs with our friends or relatives, it symbolises the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, on Good Friday, we decorate the Epitaph with colorful flowers and at night, we accompany the Epitaph around the city holding candles.

In addition, on Holy Saturday, at midnight "Christ is risen", and there is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, that i told you before. Also, this is when we light up our Easter candles, that our godmother brought us, and we crack eggs.

And last but definitely not least, on Easter Sunday, we visit our relatives and roast lamb to eat. It's super yummy! And on this day is when the fasting ends.

To sum it up, the Holy Week is a really important week for Christians, because "Christ is risen". Obviously we attend church services every day. We also do fasting for 40 days straight from Clean Monday until Holy Saturday, night.
