Two years ago, my son, went on a vacation to Europe. Europe is a large area of land called a continent. Europe is very far away. It take twelve hours in an airplane to get to Europe. This is a photo of him as he left on his trip. One of the things he told me was that when his plane landed in Europe he noticed that there were so many people from all over the world - everyone sounded different than everyone else. One of the places he visited in Europe is called England. Today we will hear from someone from England. People from America and England speak the same language but sound very different from each other. I wonder why that is? That is the question we will be exploring today - Why do people from England sound different than people from America?
