Bees have different roles. For example, an infertile female is a worker bee. Worker bees feed bee larvae using nectar and/or pollen. Other tasks they do are creating hives, and protecting it from predators. Drones are the males that mate with the queen bee. They die once they mate. The queen bee's job is to mate with the drones and lay a lot of eggs every day.

Bees have hairs on their back legs to help them carry pollen. They also have an electrostatic charge. This helps them attract pollen. Both of these adaptations became more prominent over time because they helped bees survive and assisted them in doing their job.
