ประเพณีวันสงกรานต์ของชาวมอญ จังหวัดปทุมธานี เนื่องจากชาวมอญยึดถือกันมาแต่โบราณมาว่า สงกรานต์เป็นประเพณีที่สำคัญที่สุดในรอบปี เพราะเป็นวันขึ้นปีใหม่ ที่ผ่านมาชาวมอญเมืองปทุมธานีจัดประเพณีสงกรานต์ของพวกเขาถึง 6 วัน กิจกรรมหลักคือการทำบุญตักบาตรที่วัด เซ่นไหว้ผีสางเทวดา กราบไหว้ขอพรญาติผู้ใหญ่ และพักผ่อนด้วยการละเล่นพื้นบ้านชนิดต่างๆ
แต่ในปีนี้คงจะเงียบเหงากว่าทุกปีที่ผ่านมา เพราะสถานการณ์โรคระบาด "โควิด-19" ทำให้คนไทยต้องงดการฉลองสงกรานต์และงดการเล่นสาดน้ำ แต่เปลี่ยนมาเป็นการแสดงความรักความห่วงใยต่อญาติผู้ใหญ่ในแบบอื่นๆ แทนโดยใช้การโทรศัพท์คุยกัน คุยผ่านไลน์ คุยแบบเห็นหน้าผ่านทางวิดีโอคอล หรือใช้ช่องทางสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ โดยไม่กอดหอมหรือสัมผัสตัวผู้สูงอายุ แต่ให้แสดงความกตัญญูต่อผู้สูงอายุโดยเว้นระยะห่าง 1-2 เมตรในการทำกิจกรรมในครอบครัว

สงกรานต์เป็นภาษาสันสกฤต แปลว่า เคลื่อน หมายถึงดวงอาทิตย์เคลื่อนผ่านเข้าสู่จักรราศีใหม่ การเคลื่อนจากราศีมีนเข้าสู่ราศีเมษ เป็นการเคลื่อนครั้งใหญ่เรียกว่า "มหาสงกรานต์" ซึ่งเป็นเหตุการณ์ที่คู่กับคำว่า "ตรุษ" แปลว่า ตัดหรือขาด ถือเป็นวันสิ้นสุดปีเก่า ก่อนขึ้นปีใหม่ในวันมหาสงกรานต์ ชาวไทยรามัญ (มอญ) ให้ความสำคัญกับวันสงกรานต์มากเพราะถือว่านอกจากจะเป็นการแสดงถึงความกตัญญูต่อบรรพบุรุษแล้ว ยังเป็นเทศกาลที่ญาติพี่น้องมาพบปะสังสรรค์กันนับเป็นการรวมญาติครั้งใหญ่ที่สุดในรอบปี  ประเพณีสงกรานต์ชองชาวมอญเป็นวัฒนธรรมที่มีคุณค่าแสดงให้เห็นภูมิปัญญาในการดำเนินชีวิตในด้านการทำกิจกรรมร่วมกัน เพื่อส่งเสริมความรักความอบอุ่นในครอบครัว ความสามัคคีในชุมชน ภูมิปัญญาด้านการรับประกอบอาหาร การแสดงออกด้วยการกระทำต่าง ๆ หลายประการ แสดงให้เห็นถึงในสังคมชาวไทยรามัญ กฎเกณฑ์ของสังคมมีความหมาย มีความสำคัญกว่ากฎหมาย และยังเป็นวันสำคัญที่ชาวไทยรามัญมาชุมนุมกัน
