Flipgrid is an online video response tool. Users can create free accounts and join groups created by teachers. When prompted to join, users are asked whether they are educators or students. If you are an educator you will be asked to set up a group and create topics and once this is done you will receive a code to send to your students for them to join. If you are a student you will create an account and be asked to join a group via the code your teacher will give you. After this, students are free to record videos responding to teacher created topics.

Speare is another writing tool, but it is not a grammar tool like the other writing tools and instead the textbook classifies it as a "composition helper". Speare serves as a drawing board for students to jot down different ideas and scraps of writing. Students can make a 7 day account for free, and the monthly plan is roughly $15 / month while the annual plan equates to roughly $5 / month. A tool like Speare would help a high school history teacher facilitate the 4 c's by improving communication skills as well as critical thinking. Students would be able to analyze different structures of their writing and determine which is most effective for conveying their message. The speare website which can be found in this link also features a comprehensive "how to" guide under the "Support" icon on their website.

ThingLink does offer free options for users, and it is used by a variety of Multi National Enterprises to conduct presentations. This tool would be beneficial in a high school history class as in class we often had to construct posters regarding different events throughout history. A 12th grade history teacher could use GroupMe by creating a group chat for the class. The teacher can choose to be in the group, or just have it facilitated by students. In the chat, students could ask questions which would likely be answered faster compared to emailing the teacher. Groupme also designates one user as the chat "owner" and the owner can choose to add or kick people out ensuring that uninvited users will not be involved in the chat.
