This picture reminded me of the moment that the father examined the waterfall closer and looked at the pebbles/stones that were near the end of the river. This picture of the huge, snowy waterfall that's pouring into a river was exactly what I was picturing in my mind when I first read those two sentences in the book. This was such an innocent moment during this scene because everything seemed (almost) normal. The boy was very shocked and surprised because he probably has never seen a waterfall like that in his life. They are bundled up in their warm clothes as the snow falls onto the ground and onto the trees. Since the people are placed directly in the middle, it forces your eye to look at them right away. Along with this idea, the people’s clothes add a pop of color to the picture because it contrasts with the white snow. One thing that I also noticed from this picture was that you can’t really see the end of the path/where the people are walking.
