Well for starters I’ve learned to cope with long term boredom around my house. One thing I did was sneakily play video games during online classes back in 6th grade, that is one major factor in me learning the master technique of hiding a game during class. Something else I learned was how to cook, and now I love to cook food. The first things I learned how to make were guacamole and fried rice. Even though I had help I did feel quite accomplished. That was in an online class, one other thing that I attempted to learn from an online class was coding… but that did not end up so well as I found out that it was hard and boring to learn even the basics of coding. Later that year after summer ended I went to real school and learned how easy it was to slack off and that the lockdown had turned me into a major procrastinator, something I still struggle with to the day of writing this. Those were the major things that I learned or attempted to learn over quarantine, and i hope my future self has improved in any of these categories.

Now this is not about my successes during skiing though, but rather my failures. One of the more unusual “falls” if you would call it that had all the properties of somebody falling, but, without the falling, let me explain. I was on the flat part of the slope, just right after a large slope. I had some speed and decided “let's do a jump,” (there were big bumps to the side of the slopes where you could do that) and so I tried it, and one ski came off. After the ski came off i lost my balance flailing my arms to reclaim it when my other ski came off (keep in mind i had just cleared the jump and was still moving forward) when the other ski came off i took a step and just stood there, in confusion.
