         <description><![CDATA[<div>What I really like about the origins of the Highlander Institute which are still part of the organizational philosophy today is the focus on "common sense" solutions for "common sense" concerns/problems. Leveraging invested people at the local level to help push for social change, be it in the classroom or outside of it is something that can be incredibly powerful and something I feel proud to be part of!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think the idea to empower people to make change that was so fundamental to the original Highlander Fold School carries over to the approach the Highlander Fellows will take to go into classrooms and districts and to attempt to trigger changes from within the teachers and the administrators with whom the fellows interact.</div>]]></description>

It was also fluid, moving from labor work to civil rights work. My understanding of the Fuse work with the Highlander Institute is meeting school communities where they are in terms of blended learning and personalization and moving them forward in a direction that the school community prioritizes and values.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
