Effective teamwork can shape productive and meaningful relationships. A team that works together towards organizational goals has more opportunities to form relationships and relate to one another.

It can provide excellent learning opportunities.

Working in a team enables us to learn from one another’s mistakes. It is possible to avoid future mistakes, gain insight from different perspectives, and learn relevant concepts from more experienced colleagues.

Of course, we can't deny that competition also has its benefits. For example, it's easier for you to manage time, you get fully credited for work done, it reduces conflict, and, most importantly, you are your own boss. Despite this, I am not partial to competition because it is difficult for me to manage time and be effective on my own.

In short, I prefer teamwork over competition because it enhances creativity and knowledge, promotes a sense of achievement and equity, helps build relationships, and can be a rich source of learning opportunities.

Regardless of which one I prefer, there are times when you'll have to work in a team and sometimes you'll have to do it alone. You need to know how to maximize the benefits of working in these scenarios if you find yourself in such a situation.
