I Like Myself is a book about a little girl and her dog who follows her everywhere she goes. Throughout the book, the little girl can express her self-esteem in a variety of different ways. She can show her self-confidence and can be comfortable being herself. The little girl and her dog go about their day while staying authentic to themselves. This book can teach children to be proud of who they are no matter what others may think or say because at the end of the day the only opinion that really matters is your own.

Every Sunday after church, CJ and his Nana take the bus to its last stop on Market Street. On this specific Sunday, CJ begins to wonder why they have to wait in the rain, why they don't have a car, and why they always make this trip. The book takes a trip that provides children the opportunity to learn about different perspectives and why we should be grateful with what we have even if it's different.

A young pilgrim named Faith finds a cat on the Mayflower. She befriends the cat and names the cat Pounce. Together they spend time together facing the long voyage. They experienced sickness, hunger, and coldness together. The cat is loyal and stands by her side when she gets sick. Throughout this time the cat sits by her bed and waits and waits hoping she'll get better. She eventually does get better and they find land and the Indians helped the pilgrims get back on their feet.

This book is about a pilgrim girl named Sarah Morton. In this story, we get to follow Sarah and see how her daily life was in different aspects such as work and play in the new world. We see her milking goats, cooking, and even learning to read and write. This book allows the reader to gain a different perspective of how it was growing up during this time period and how different it is from our daily lives.

We read in the book that Gerald the giraffe isn’t the best dancer although this is true he really enjoys dancing therefore throughout the book Gerald is willing to try and try again until he finds words of encouragement from his friends.

This book allows students to be able to learn about what happens when we tell a lie even if we think it’s a small lie that can’t hurt anyone. This book teaches students why it’s important to be authentic. Ruthie finds a tiny camera and in order to keep it tells a tiny lie. In the book we are able to see what happens from this little lie.

In this story, Jack is a little boy who is trying to help his mom make extra money to get enough food. He sells his cow but meets an old man who is willing to give him magical beans in return for his cow. He takes the beans back home and his mother is upset because they still need money. She threw the beans out of the window and the next morning there was a giant beanstalk that went up to the sky. He went up the beanstalk and met giants who eat children. He went on an adventure and was able to bring money back home. He was chased by the giants but was able to escape and chop down the beanstalk.

The Three Little Pigs

This story is about three pigs that live together until Mommy Pig tells them it's time to go out on their own and build their own house. One pig makes their house out of straw. Another pig built their house out of sticks. The final pigs built their house out of stone. The big bad wolf comes in the book looking to eat the pigs. We are shown how the first two houses weren't strong enough and were blown down. The only house standing was the stone house. All three pigs ended up in the stone house and got rid of the big bad wolf.

One rainy day a little girl and her friends find themselves walking down the road when they they find a mysterious black bag with yellow stars and moons on it. They take a look in the bag to find lots of different chalfs inside. The little girl picks up a yellow chalk and begins drawing a sun. Before they know it the sun comes to life and the rain goes away. They all become shocked and surprised as they look at the butterflies they drew come off the cement and begin flying around them. Before they know it someone drew a BIG dinosaur. They begin to yell and run to the playground as they try to escape the dinosaur. As they hide in the slides one little boy pulls out a piece of chalk and gets right to work drawing a cloudy sky and rain drops. It begins to rain and the dinosaur melts away. They watch the green chalk float away and put the bag of chalk back where they found it.
