'Comrades' is a term often used when relating to two individuals whom are of a positive association. Whilst comrades reflects the qualities and ideals of animalism, the pigs banter towards other animals is more so just a facade of a totalitarian society. Having a civil conversation with opposing animals allows a sense of trust to be exchanged towards the pigs. Orwell utilised dramatic irony in order to highlight the pigs intentions to be deceitful and immoral, rather then friendly and trustworthy. Though the animals perceive the pigs actions as a polite exchange, they are simply contributing to the corruption of animalism, and the originally agreed concept of having all animals to be equal. The term reflects a communist society rather then the newly evolved animalistic civilisation.

The subtle change in the 7 commandments has a heavy impact on how the reader perceives the evolution of the farm and the obvious foreshadowing. The original commandments all work together towards an equal and fair society where no one is in power and the reader sees this as a generally positive thing and proves that "Animalism" is working but when the power and privilege of the pigs influences the 7 commandments, it obvious to see the inevitably bad ending. When the 7 commandments are changed the reader sees this as the pigs winning, the pigs begin to abuse their power and privileged and continue to stay in power strikes the reader with a sense of guilt and emotion as they see regular animals (Representation of the working class) suffer for no reason.

The windmill is a symbolic representation of the animals progression towards communism, theme of fear and motif of . Although, this is relatively a drawback towards there works as it is actually representing Napoleon's leadership towards his dominance and superiority over the other animals. His rule is a dictatorship making the other animals not feel like workers but instead slaves towards the power he has obtained, of and near absolute corruption. The windmill is a major step towards the humanistic features of Napoleon's rule towards attempting to create a more civilised 'Animal Farm' not through the ideals of animalism. Instead, through a class system such as.. what the humans use, where he will obtain the most power due to his high-intellect overpowering the other animals.

Mollie is a horse who struggles to conform to the initial ideals of Animalism. Whilst the animals on the farm work towards a common goal of equality, she enjoys qualities such as privilege. For her this is exemplified through her vanity, evident when after the farm is overthrown she is caught being pat on the head by a neighbouring farmer. She is scolded by Clover for this, admitting she was wrong to go against Animalism, but end up leaving the farm for the 'human' world. Orwells invited reading of this character and situation is that it is not possible for all to conform to one particular ideal, no matter how utopian it may seem. It also serves to foreshadow the weakness in Animalism.

Throughout the didactic novel of Animal Farm themes of dishonesty, power and corruption are embedded to have a close association , in order to highlight the characterisation of the pigs. Whilst the corruption of the farm was affected by the exploitation showed by the pigs towards the animalism ideology, the pigs dishonesty and power had a considerable influence upon the outcome of the story. When napoleon took the nine puppies, not only was he deceitful about where the animals rations were going, he was also abusing his ability to do so. Its seen throughout the novel, that the characters with the most power, seem to be the ones whom end up corrupting the most. As the pigs took advantage of their power, they evidently used dishonesty to do so, therefore presenting a link.

This event was significant as it presents the corruption of the seven commandments. The original commandment which stated "whatever goes upon two legs is enemy" is contradicted as a result of the pigs actions. Not only were they associating with a human, the pigs were in hindsight contributing to the corruption of the commandments. As they were also participating in human activities which was told to be prohibited.

The significance of the pigs playing cards with the humans at the end of the novel demonstrates that power corrupts all living beings, whether it be animal to human. This is evident by the fact that partaking in gambling is a very human quality and those whom enjoy privilege are the ones who gamble. The pigs participating in the gambling signifies how privileged the pigs are, as they casually banter while playing cards, it also shows that the pigs hold just as much, if not more, power as the humans. The animals watching from outside symbolises that they are figuratively looking into the lies and corruption that has affected the pigs into forgetting the ideology of Animalism all together. The pigs partaking in gambling with the other animals looking in symbolises the fall of Animalism and the corruption of the pigs ideologies.
