Additional requirements: Please bring a notebook to class for generative writing and other in-class and at- home exercises. At least once during the semester, everyone’s essays will be collected into a class publication (e.g., booklet or digital form) for your class to read.

I will email back your grades for Unit One: Inquiring into the Self as soon as possible but no later than October 6th.

Description/ Instructions: First, list at least three specific terms the author uses. Then, respond as fully as you can to the following questions without worrying too much, during this exploratory stage, about matters of spelling, structure, and so on. 

While remaining as true as possible to the author’s words and intentions, don’t worry too much about getting the “right” answer, for there are no perfectly right answers to these questions. Instead, work to find responses and ideas that are interesting and lead to more questions. If you are working in a group, it is useful to note any disagreements and/or differences group members may have concerning the terms. These points of difference will lead to interesting questions and help further your understanding of the text.
