“Bloody Mary” is an American ghost story about an evil woman, Mary, who would take the blood of young children to make herself look more young and beautiful. The folktale starts off by children gone missing one by one. Then one day, the miller’s daughter was drawn away by an enchant that nobody else could hear. Her mother saw her going outside and called her husband to help follow her. Then, her neighbors follow her and find Mary using her wand to put an evil spell on the girl. One of the neighbors shoot her and then burn her in the fire. Before she died, she gave a curse to everyone in the village that whoever says her name three times before a mirror, she will possess them and rip their body to pieces. Since then, her story has been well known world-wide.

“Babe and the Blue Ox” was a story about an abnormally large man named Paul Bunyan and his side kick Babe the Blue Ox. Since they live in Bemidji, Minnesota they get large amounts of snow which is usually the size of a house. And the snow is so frozen it is practically blue, so when Paul found Babe in the woods he he had no choice but to take him in. Where Babe got his name was because he was blue and the snow was blue it was just right to name him Babe the Blue Ox. Now one summer Babe ended up meeting Bessie the one that he will soon learn to love and the summer which he used to hate but also found to love. This folklore originated in the “oral tradition of North American loggers.”

Tommy slowed the car and they passed a house that had “No Trespassing” signs stuck in the grass and stapled all over the fence. Tommy hydroplaned off the road and straight into a pecan tree. Peggy was thrown against the door and smacked her head off the window, but they both survived. Tommy quickly ripped off pieces of his shirt to stop Peggy’s bleeding and went to go find help at the house they had passed. Peggy begged him not to go, but he left. Later, a sudden chill caused goosebumps to form on Peggy’s arms and she held her breath. All of a sudden, something began banging on the roof of the car. After the banging had passed, a police officer appeared at her window and she explained everything that had happened. As the officer helped her out of the car, she looked up and saw Tommy, hanging from the tree, with a “No Trespassing” sign stapled to his chest.

New Mexico
