In the process of understanding different periods from Stone Age till present time, I have changed my perspective of viewing history. I had first seen history with a blind eye focusing and placing my interest on bloody wars, executions, massacres, revolutions, etc. But studying about old times showed me that human were peaceful and organised like the Indus Civilisation, and the Vedic Period.

Q2. Why studying history is important?

A2. Through studying history we learn past governments and technologies were built, their ideologies (monarchies, oligarchies etc.), cultures, etc. But also referring to our big idea "History a mirror of our present" it shows us the mistakes our ancestors made and how we can learn and improve from them.

Q3. At first when someone would say "history" i would imagine the world war and ancient Egypt. but now I know there's a lot more to history than just pyramids and planes. I know now that there are hundreds of cultures, tribes in all parts of the world with unique histories.
I think studying history is important because you need to know your past and be intrigued by it, you can also study science, and architecture.
A few practices which still Prevail is probably the public structures, as in the great bath and so on. There are a lot more public structures now but it is the same.

Q1 - In the process of understanding different periods from Stone Age till present time, has there been any change in perspective/way of seeing history?

A1 - Yes, there are many things that have changed from Stone Age till present time, and there have also been many changes in the way people see history. Let's see changes from Vedic Period first. In later Vedic period, women were not treated equally. They were treated as slaves and were meant to be sorrow and a sign of bad luck. Nowadays, women have started working and earning for the family. Women are being treated way better now, but there are still some families that believe men are better and that only they can earn for a living. In Stone Age most people were hunters-gatherers, but now people are working in offices and working in other professions such as Doctors, Builders, Teachers etc.

Q2 - Why is studying history so important? Can you connect with some practices that still prevails now?

A2 - 1 main reason of studying history is so that we don't repeat the same mistakes our ancestors made. And it is also essential to learn about the older lifestyle. One practice that still is being followed is prayers. Even though the gods and beliefs have changed, people are still praying.

One perspective of mine that has changed is that, before I used to think that up until CE all people were hunter-gatherers, but I realized that ever since agriculture was discovered in neolithic period, people stopped living a nomadic life, and settled down, and had more time to do other activities, and had formed cities, and societies. I think studying history is important so that we can see what mistakes were made in the past, and prevent making them again. We can also take ideas from our ancestors and use them. Some things that are used even today include- trade, classes, architecture, etc.

1. Of course throughout the different stone age eras, Indus Valley and Vedic period the way of how people use to behave, their beliefs, how society was treated all has changed in various different ways. But the evolution of humans occurred and kept on going with these different eras/periods which brings us to what we are today in the modern world.
2. I believe studying history is important because learning about the past can help us build a better future. Learning about the past can tell us how things in the world exist today. The learning of history and starting from the very beginning can give us an insight on how the world evolved into what it is today.
3. Even though the world has evolved in MULTIPLE ways being completely different from centuries old history, there are a couple practices that still to this day prevail. And one of those would be farming. Farming is an extremely crucial part of life which is still valued and practiced with a lot of effort today. But one thing that has changed is that, in the history periods farming was one of the most valued occupations and it is unfortunate that in the present farmers aren't valued as much and the profession has lost a lot of it's value over time.
