These examples do tie into Friendship. First of all, Johnny creates new friends in Cherry and Marcia. This shows that he is very friendly. Johnny then kills Bob to help save Ponyboy. He does that because him and Ponyboy are good friends. Finally, he has 2 friends who die at the end of the book. He was very sad about this happening, which shows that they were good friends.
