It usually has colours that are blue and teal tones.  The theme covers a range of designs from boats as shown in the image to mermaids with glittery hair and shells. The colours could either be created using pre-coloured hair pieces or coloured hair sprays  that will colour light hair. 
I think that a hairpiece like this would be created using a cardboard made ship and then wrapped with the models hair. The hair would possibly be placed with hair spray to hold it in place and keep it stiff. The rolls could possibly be made using gel to keep all the hair form fraying. 
I think this hair style would be made for a themed photo shoot.  Considerations that would have to be made for a photoshoot would be making sure that the hair wasn't synthetic so that it wont cause a flash back on the images which would make the hair shiny and appear fake. Healthy hair when collected smooth provides a shine under the light which could be handy in creative waves of hair to look like water for a sea theme look.

This hair design has alot of hight to create the petals. It is identifialble as flowers due to the coloured centre and the shape the hair has been made into. I feel like this look as been made using just the models blond hair. I also think that behind the petals there must be a padded insert wrapped under the hair to provide a base for most the height giving the petals some structure to lean on. The petals I think have been made using a fine brush, the metal long mouth clips and a strong hair spray to push and manipulate the hahir to stand and bend where needed. Alternatively this hair style could be a wig made from real light blond hair and pre-styled on a dols head before being applied onto the model. I think this because the hair around the side of the head appears lifted away from the face at the hair line. Despite the detail of the petals the centres of the flower seem to catch the most attention because of the strong contrast of colour and gems. I feel like this look could also be used for catwalk or photographic purpose to match a them or outfit. It appears that the hair has been created into a woven ball. This may have either been made before it has been attached to the head or on the head of the model. I think this hair peice was also made out of wire and the hair wrapped around it or false hair being glued into place. Most of the models hair I think has been pulled flat and smooth to the head. Then the remaining hair has been encorporated into the design by also creating swirls onto the models back, across the forehead and wrapped around the base of the ball. I think that the swirls of the models hair on the shoulder has been created using gel as it provides smooth and easy shaping and movement alowing the swearls to be created before it sets hard into place. This style of hair would be used for photoshoots. It needs to be neat; no loose fibers of hair that could be picked up on camera. Each peacock has an orignal formation of feathers that consist of eye shape feathers that are displayed to impress the female bird. The brighter the tail the more attractive. The hair peice features hair of dfferent colours, green, blue and orange that have been bent and set in place possibly using gel that would have set and then placed possibly onto a green feather to re-create the look of the tail feathers. There are multiple feathers all joined into the centre and fanning out. Wire may have been used within the hair peice to hold the shape and ensure that each peice doesnt move or bend. I  also like the size of this head peice as it would catch alot of attention. This type of head peice could be used for runway to match a particular theme of clothing. I like how all the hair has been removed from the face and been pulled back loosly into a point. I think to create this a blue coated wire structure that the hair could be wrapped around. It appears that the front of the hair is in a loose but volumed braid before being taken back into the point. The hair has a striff quality (frozen) which I think would have been caused by the use of a blue and white coloured hair spray to alter the colour of and create a frosting on the hair. Added possibly carboard or plastic accessories have been added down the sides to cover any partings and add to the theme. Glitter could also be added to give a reflective quality to the hair like ice. This look could be used for film or theatre for an ice character.
