you want high contrast on one side of there face.when i was using the barn doors i found that the photos looked better if you only used one light to create contrast under one side of the face.you can really make your subjects face stand out with this lighting by focusing the light on there face and adjusting the brightness of the light to get there face to glow and stand out from the rest of the high fashion look.I find that the ring flash bring out the colours in your skin,it is also very good for interviewing people and getting really nice headshots that don't need much editing or
