Hi everyone! My name is Agnese Pianigiani. I am 36 years old and I live in Siena, Tuscany, Italy. I teach italian language and literature, history and geography in a middle school close to the town center.

I am fond of technology: with my students I enjoy using tools like Blendspace, Tacck, Padlet, Thinglink and many more.

In the last two years I got involved in the project "cl@sse 2.0": each of my students had a tablet and the classroom was equipped with a LIM (Lavagna Interattiva Multimediale, Interactive Multimedia Board).

The learning materials I produced are published on my blog https://latestabenfatta.wordpress.com/

In my opinion the most important digital competence to develop in our classrooms is being able to web-search information and to interpretate it critically. Many times the students aren't able to discriminate between serious and appropriate websites and misleading or erroneous ones. Moreover, today the ability of orientating ourselves on the web allows us to access the information needed to develop all the other other digital skills.

I hope that in the future work will be like the slides describe… unfortunately in Italy, my country, the current state of the work environment will need a lot of changes before it can match the author vision: a process that I fear will be slow and long. Above all I strongly believe the only way to encourage people creativity is to grant them more power and freedom. In my opinion also the transparency is fundamental, even if it is perhaps the most difficult condition to achieve, at least in my country.

I don’t have a Linkedin profile and I haven’t ever had an online interview just because I'm not looking for a new job. These tools, however, are extensively used to successfully connect employers with those looking for a job. A very important task is also the preparation of an electronic CV: websites such as Monster and Indeed are now fundamental to bring together supply and demand. In my classes usually we do not talk much about the world of work: kids are too young ( 11-14 ) and most of the times they are interested in attending high school.

In particular, I am good at web-searching information and I understand the basics of how a search engine works. Moreover, I make a sane use of social networks (facebook, pinterest, youtube) and I publish the slides that I prepare for my students on slideshare. I also write a blog on wordpress (https://latestabenfatta.wordpress.com) and in my past I have been part of the admins group of the italian Wikipedia. Lately, I became interested in computer programming.
