Big Art Day - Invited Families and community members to create a collaborative art display of flowers

Our school does an “act of kindness” fundraiser every year. We have a service project night and I run an activity each year. That project is given to residents of a local nursing home when students go to sing for them. We have done small beaded mobiles, kindness rocks, tissue paper flowers and friendship bracelets in the past. Both the parents, students and residents love making and giving their art.

Kindergarten makes drawings/letters for our local fire station during the holidays. I deliver them close to winter break saying thank you for everything they do for us. It is also a great way to educate the little on all the amazing things firefighters do for us.

We had our 3rd and 4th grade create Jim Dine inspired hearts to be given to Medical City of McKinney. The nurses handed these out to those recovering from icu unit.
