This piece of text shows that guilt can become controlling in a persons life, just as it had done in the seventh mans life. However, the seventh man doesn't need to learn to forgive himself but rather let go of his guilt. To say that he needs to forgive himself, is to say that he did something wrong. The horrifying events that took place is the seventh mans early life were unimaginable but the seventh man was not at fault. It was simply a terrible accident</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>(Nancy Sherman, Paragraph 4)<br>"Objective, or rational guilt, by contrast---guilt that is 'fitting' to one's actions---accurately tracks real wrongdoing or culpability: guilt is appropriate because one acted to deliberately harm someone." The seventh failed to save his friend as a result of acting on flight instinct. Had the seventh man gone to save K, he might've drowned too. The seventh man's guilt wasn't rational because he hadn't deliberately acted to end his friend's life. Therefore, he shouldn't feel guilty for his actions.</div>]]></description>
