Imagine the girl you fell in love with since the time you met her has gone missing. You were just with her on a mission the night before that brought you two even closer. Well, that's what it was like for Quentin Jacobsen, he had secretly wanted Margo for as long as he could remember but could never build up enough courage to say it. He was shy and un-confident and she was outgoing and amazing, two different people. Quentin couldn't believe she was gone so he went searching in her home and found clues she left behind for him to find her. He gathers all his friends who might just miss prom for this trip to find her, which they were highly anticipating. They take their trip to a paper town in a unexpected ending.

Paper Towns was an intriguing book to read. I liked the mystery part of the book in not knowing whether he would ever find Margo or where she went. The characters surrounding the story like Quentin's friends were a great addition. They brought humor to the book and made me laugh quite a few times. I have a personal connection with this book in the love component. Just like how Quentin won't stop until he gets what he wants by finding Margo, I have the same passion for track and field and how I love it.

"I liked being bored." (ch 1 pg 89) - Quentin Jacobsen
"I'm a big believer in random capitalization. The rules of capitalization are so unfair to words in the middle." (ch 3 pg 7) - Margo Spederman
"Margo was not a miracle. She was not an adventure. She was not a fine and precious thing. She was a girl." (ch 15 pg 22) - Quentin Jacobsen

The first two quotes show the identities of both Quentin, boring, and Margo, different. The last quote is what is found throughout the adventure. How he realizes that he was treating Margo as a object or ideal and not a human.

I recommend this book to just about anyone who enjoys reading. It's very engaging and will keep you glued in.
