I feel amazed by how Laos has preserved its simplicity and deep cultural traditions despite globalization.

I learned that Laos is a landlocked country famous for its beautiful landscapes, Buddhist temples, and being one of the few socialist countries remaining in Asia.

A senator holds national influence and helps create laws that affect the entire country. For this position, I want a leader who has:

Strong legislative background – Someone who understands how laws work and has experience in policy-making.

Integrity and transparency – They should be honest, free from corruption, and open to public scrutiny.

Advocacy for national development – I want a senator who prioritizes education, healthcare, and economic reforms that uplift Filipinos.

Independent and courageous – A true public servant who can stand up against party pressure if it’s for the good of the people.

A governor is the head of a province and directly affects local governance. For this role, I want someone who has:

Hands-on leadership – A governor should be visible in the community and responsive during crises like typhoons or pandemics.

Good management skills – The ability to manage budgets, oversee infrastructure projects, and improve public services.

Community-focused vision – They must genuinely care for the people, especially farmers, students, and local workers.

If I were to choose a religion aside from my current one, I would choose Buddhism. One of the main reasons is its core teaching on inner peace, mindfulness, and compassion toward all living beings. In Buddhism, the goal is to attain enlightenment or nirvana, a state where suffering and desire no longer control the mind. I find this principle powerful because it focuses on self-awareness and understanding the root of human suffering, which is very relevant in today’s fast-paced, stressful world.

The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path serve as a moral and practical guide to live a balanced life. They teach people to be kind, to think clearly, to act ethically, and to reflect deeply. I admire how Buddhism encourages personal growth without forcing belief in a supreme being—it emphasizes personal responsibility and transformation.

Also, the Buddhist practice of meditation and mindfulness helps calm the mind and develop compassion and patience. These values are something I try to apply in my own life, and Buddhism’s focus on peace, non-violence, and simplicity resonates with my personal goals and how I want to treat others and myself.

In summary, I would choose Buddhism for its peaceful teachings, its focus on self-improvement, and its practical path to ending suffering and finding true contentment.
