Module 1: That's a lot of information. I'm glad I understand the how the pathways are now and my role/responsibility. Wow, this is so organized. I wonder how this will benefit our students?

Module 2: Again, a lot of information. I had no idea CTE had that much impact. What would schools do with out all the additional funding our students generate???

Module 3: Business partners are essential to growing our programs and allowing students more opportunities. I'm going to check with my business XYZ in River Oaks to see how they might want to partner with us. Could I check with business outside of River Oaks?

Module 4: I love how well CTE curriculum is getting organized. It will be hard work getting it all pulled together this year, but it will be so much easier each year after. How could I help new teachers with their curriculum?

This information will be very helpful as students come in wanting to change their elective choices.
Module 2: Wow, their is a lot to be said about IBC's and CCMR, especially as to how is affects CISD's accountability rating.

Module 1: Being able to see the flow of the CTE program is helpful to understand how to guide the students as an 8th grade teacher. Many choices and many decisions to help the students to grow; to help them find what fits for them.
: The long term picture for 4 years - reviewing this helps to see the importance of helping students to plan. "What am I going to be doing for the next four years and the outcome I need to work for?" is the question for our students. It takes more than the counselor and director to help move our students in the right direction.
If a student finds they are not a match, what can they do. The sooner the better, so that brings it to the teachers and counselors to be on our toes when we work with the students. "Why is this student not achieving in this area?" "How can we guide them to the right pathway?"

Module 2: It is important for CISD accountability rating but more important, I believe, that we guide our students to their future. What do we have to offer our students for success is the important guiding quesiton? If we are successful in answering that question, our success with IBCs thus CCRM success witll come.

Module 1: I love how their is a consistent method for changing course/pathways. I also like how there is a survey to find out why the student is switching pathways. I'm wondering if students in the teaching and training pathway can also have the option of general employability/dollar and sense OR BIM1 in their freshman year.
Module 2: I learned how Perkins works and why it was created. I also learned why districts have to submit a plan. I'm wondering how we can make students finish pathways they aren't interested in. Sometimes, I feel we are force feeding them through the system and it makes if difficult to get them to attain the IBCs due to lack of true interest. How can we motivate those students?
Module 3: I'm looking forward to strengthening our TAFE program this year and promoting it early. It is really beneficial for students to experience membership in these types of organizations. They show tremendous growth both personally and academically as a result of competing in these events.
Module 4: I'm happy we are streamlining how we are putting in lesson plans. I will admit, I'm not sure how the modules work, so I would like to have some focused training on how to better utilize that component.

Module 1: It is HUGE that we are creating a unified approach to CTE. Not only is this beneficial for the students, but it is awesome for us teachers. We no longer have to guess how to help these students. Thank you for giving us the tools and the responses to help us be all on the same page. At the end of the day, the students are the ones who are going to graduate with the best bang for their buck and that is what matters.
Module 2: Understanding CCMR and IBCs definitely helps to shed light on our pathways and why things are set up they way they are. Module 1 makes more sense, why we need to be conveying this information to the students and giving them the keys to truly be successful in the real world post high school.
Module 3: I had been thinking about who and how to incorporate the community into my course. I reached out to a national group I am apart of on facebook and got some great ideas. It might take awhile to get some responses and with the pandemic, people may not be as excited to have high school students in their businesses, but I still think it is a great cause and it is worth doing. These kids need the experiences.
Module 3: I enjoyed learning more about the advisory board and thinking about how the community could benefit our program. I reached out to several area businesses and only heard back from one. This individual is VERY excited about what we are doing and I know he will be a huge asset to our board. Without the pandemic, things will probably be slightly easier to recruit. It was great to better understand this process and help get the word out that we are trying to improve and we want to partner with local community members.
Module 4: This was AWESOME!! Best news ever that we are going to use Canvas as our lesson plans. Super happy about it! Setting things up took some time but once I got it rolling, I think it will run great now. I am very hesitant to put in too much information because we don't have much information on how school is going to go. I would rather have to add in later than have to go back and change everything. But I am certainly glad to be frontloading a lot of the work now. This will be a huge help.

Thank you for giving tools for the courses and connecting many of those tools into Canvas. I am excited about using Canvas for lesson plans. It narrows down the work.
Ready to go....

Module 1: I like that everything is consistent and flows together. I like that kids will be able to see their pathway on a consistent basis and know their next step. I do like the fact that they need to have a meeting to change pathways and I like that they have to take a survey.

Module 2: Understanding how IBCs and CCMR works helped me understand why we do thing the way we do. It also helped me understand the importance of why we need to educate the kids on their pathway and how their pathway works. It was really eye opening to see how much funding we as a district can receive by getting our students certified.

Module 3: Getting students involved and letting them have ownership in the organizations is huge. This keeps the kids invested and keeps them excited to come to school each day. Plus these organizations allows them to compete against other schools and build connections and friendships that might benefit them later in life. I also started contacting several local business to see if they are interested in joining our advisory committee. I hope to hear back from them soon.

Module 4: I am glad that we are streamlining where we are putting our lesson plans. I think it will be easier to keep up with and post. For me it will be difficult because I am still learning how to best manipulate canvas.

I like that they can see it visually drawn out and that in order to change they must meet certain criteria like having a meeting, etc.

Module II: The students having an IBC when they leave the HS is huge. Learning is evolving, and having a college degree is starting to be phased out it seems like, as more companies are wanting to see workforce experience and skills that will benefit their company.

Module III: Letting students know that their are others like them who want to make a difference plays a big role in the growth and development of the organizations and the students growth. Being a part of any team and getting that workforce skill would be a huge plus, especially for the student just stepping out of their comfort zone a little and knowing that every career starts as just an interest in the beginning.

Module IV: Is a huge help.

Module 1: Thank you so much for organizing this is such a way that it should be easy for us all to relay the correct information to the students or guide them to the person who can answer the questions. I tried to explain to the students that CTE is like a core class - you have to take English 1 before English 2 ... in order to graduate. I think the way this is laid out, we have visuals to provide them to help them understand it with our constant reinforcement.

Module 2: It is important we understand CCMR and how to make sure our students are getting CCMR credit. If we can make sure the students understand why an IBC or dual credit class will benefit them, they will be more likely to want to complete one or both. We must make sure we communicate with the students starting in eighth grade what some end goals for CTE pathways and provide them the knowledge of how these certifications of dual credit classes will help them be successful after college. The earlier they can set these goals for themselves, the more likely it will be for us to help them reach them.

Module 3: I know the students will be excited to help start the middle school chapter of HOSA. It will be a great process for these learners as they will have to develop the by-laws and expectations. HOSA is expected to be a student run organization with the advisor facilitating as needed, but staying out of the processes as much as possible. I have added names to the google sheet and I look forward to making more connections this year.

Module 4: Once this is finished, it will be great to have for the future. It is a lot of work up front and I appreciate that we are being given the time to get things in order. I also really like that we will only be putting lessons plans in Canvas versus two places next year. Anything to simplify a process is always great.

Module 4: This module was a lot of work. For the 4th year I have new curriculum to work out and it will be a process to arrange one semester of Sports & Entertainment marketing to adding a second semester/advanced class. In the long term it will be great though, I never could get through half the material in one semester.
