May my teaching drop as the rain,

my speech distill as the dew,

like gentle rain upon the tender grass,

and like showers upon the herb.

For I will proclaim the name of the LORD;

I greet you all, people of the world, with the LOVE of the LORD!

This is the First Sermon of the Love-Freedom Christian Ministry, International, Lagos, NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA, delivered this 2nd August 2020.

Part 1:

The Bible Is The Word of God.

Introduction

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.

The Gospel of John is a portrait of Jesus Christ and his saving work. It focuses on the last three years of Jesus’s life and especially on his death and resurrection. It’s purpose is clear in [John 20:30–31]: “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” The book is written to help people believe in Christ and have eternal life.

Written for Non-Christians — and Christians

But don’t get it in your head that the book is therefore only for unbelievers. Believers in Jesus must go on believing in Jesus in order to be saved in the end. Jesus said in [John 15: 6], “If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.” And in [John 8:31], he said, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples”

“Believers in Jesus must go on believing in Jesus in order to be saved in the end.”

So when John says, “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name,” he meant that he was writing to awaken faith in unbelievers and sustain faith in believers — and in that way lead both to eternal life. And there may be no better book in the Bible to help you keep on trusting and treasuring Christ above all.

An Eyewitness Account

This portrait of Jesus is written by an eyewitness who was part of these infinitely important events. Five times in this Gospel we find the unusual words: “the disciple whom Jesus loved” [John 13:23; 19:26; 20:2, 7; 21:20].

For example, at the very end it says in [John 21:20], “Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them.” Then four verses later, [John 21:24], it says, “This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things and who has written these things.” So the one called “the disciple whom Jesus loved” — who was there leaning on his shoulder at the Last Supper [John 13:23] — wrote this book as his divinely inspired witness to the events of Jesus’s life and what they meant for us.

Divinely Inspired

One of the reasons that I say it is divinely inspired is that this is what Jesus promised to do. He said in [John 14:26], “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” And in [John 16:13], he said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak.”

In other words, Jesus chose his apostles as his representatives, saved them, taught them, sent them, and then gave them, through the Holy Spirit, divine guidance in the writing of Scripture for the foundation of the church [Ephesians 2:20]. We believe that John’s Gospel is, therefore, the inspired Word of God.

Those words —“Word of God”— bring us to the first words of John’s Gospel.

[John 1:1-3 [KJV], states as follows:

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

These are the verses we focus on today. Before we proceed, let us pause for a moment to dwell a bit on the following question:

Many people question who the author of the Bible is and wonder if the Bible is really the Word of God. I want to give you some reasons to affirm the Bible is the Word of God.

Firstly, the Bible appears in the form of an anthology, a compilation of texts of a variety of forms that are all linked by the belief that they collectively contain the word of God.

Secondly, I believe the Bible is the Word of God because of its scientific accuracy. The Truth of the Word of God tells us that God: “hangeth the earth upon nothing” [Job 26:7]. How did Job know that the earth hung in space before the age of modern astronomy and space travel? The Holy Spirit told him. The scientists of Isaiah’s day didn’t know the topography of the earth, but Isaiah said, “It is [God] that sitteth upon the circle of the earth” [Isaiah 40:22]. The word for “circle” here means a globe or sphere. How did Isaiah know that God says upon the circle of the earth? By divine inspiration.

Thirdly, do you remember the story about the handwriting on the wall that is found in the fifth chapter of Daniel? Belshazzar hosted a feast with a thousand of his lords and ladies. Suddenly, a gruesome hand appeared out of nowhere and began to write on a wall. The king was disturbed and asked for someone to interpret the writing. Daniel was found and gave the interpretation. After the interpretation, “Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.” [Daniel 5:29].

Basing their opinion on Babylonian records, the historians claim this never happened. According to the records, the last king of Babylon was not Belshazzar, but a man named Nabonidas. And so, they said, the Bible is in error. There wasn’t a record of a king named Belshazzar. Well, the spades of archaeologists continued to do their work. In 1853, an inscription was found on a cornerstone of a temple built by Nabonidas, to the god Ur, which read: “May I, Nabonidas, king of Babylon, not sin against thee. And may reverence for thee dwell in the heart of Belshazzar, my first-born favourite son.” From other inscriptions, it was learned that Belshazzar and Nabonidas were co-regents. Nabonidas travelled while Belshazzar stayed home to run the kingdom. Now that we know that Belshazzar and Nabonidas were co-regents, it makes sense that Belshazzar would say that Daniel would be the third ruler. What a marvelous nugget of truth tucked way in the Word of God.

Fourthly,, from Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reads as one book. And there is incredible unity to the Bible. The Bible is one book, and yet it is made up of 66 books, was written by at least 40 different authors over a period of about 1600 years, in 13 different countries and on three different continents. It was written in at least three different languages by people in all professions. The Bible forms one beautiful temple of truth that does not contradict itself theologically, morally, ethically, doctrinally, scientifically, historically, or in any other way.

Fifthly, did you know the Bible is the only book in the world that has accurate prophecy? When you read the prophecies of the Bible, you simply have to stand back in awe. There are over 300 precise prophecies that deal with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Old Testament that are fulfilled in the New Testament. To say that these are fulfilled by chance is an astronomical impossibility.

Finally, the Bible is not a book of the month, but the Book of the ages. [First Peter 1:25] says: “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the Word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” No book has ever had as much opposition as the Bible. Men have laughed at it, scorned it, burned it, ridiculed it, and made laws against it. But the Word of God has survived. And it is applicable today as much as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

First, we focus on the term word. “In the beginning was the Word.” The most important thing to know about this Word is found in [John 1 verse 14]: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” The Word refers to Jesus Christ.

God has no beginning and God has no end. The phrase in the beginning merely describes an arbitrary starting point when nothing was yet created, In the beginning, the Word, which God intended to speak to man, existed in Him. He foreknew that He would create the Heaven and earth. The Word which in the beginning was with God was God Himself in Jesus Christ. God and His Word are the same.

Verse 3 reveals the power associated with the Word of God. Al things came into existence, at the appointed time by the WORD OF GOD. All things, without exceptions, were brought into being by the WORD of GOD, a testimony to this fact is recorded in [HEBREW 11:3], which says:

³Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The book of Genesis gives a brief account of how God created the heaven and earth. When the earth became void, God put it back into shape. At each step, God sent HIS WORD and specific things came into existence.

The following are some examples:

· [Genesis 1:3]:

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light!.

· [Genesis 1:6]:

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

In the beginning, ever before anything was created, the WORD existed with GOD. When time was right, God sent His WORD, to bring about the existence of all things. The same WORD was at the right time, converted into flesh, in the form of JESUS CHRIST!

Therefore, what John is doing in [John 1:1–3], is telling us the most ultimate things about Jesus that he can. It took John more than three years to figure out the fullness of who Jesus was. But he does not want his readers to take more than three verses to find out what took him so long to know. He wants us to have in our minds, fixed and clear, from the beginning of his Gospel, the eternal majesty and deity and Creator rights of Jesus Christ.

[John 1:18], explains why the WORD had to take up the appearance of a man, instead of the abstract voice usually sent by God to man through prophets and so on.

[John 1:18],states:

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and^[^a^] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

If God were to be seen physically, all men might probably believe God. But God lives in the spiritual realm. For this reason, it becomes difficult for man to believe the WORD sent by God through another man. It was therefore crucial for God to make the WORD into flesh. This happened and we all beheld the Glory of God in Jesus Christ.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE WORD OF GOD! As the WORD OF GOD, Jesus Christ is not different from God, the Father.

In [John 10:30], Jesus Christ declared:

" I [Jesus Christ] and my Father [GOD] are one."

According to John 1:1, Jesus Christ [THE WORD], in the beginning was with God. This fact came to light when Jesus Christ [at the close of His Ministry] was praying for His disciplines in [John 17:5]:

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the worldwas.

The Epistle of Paul to the Colossians also collaborated the fact that Jesus was with God [The WORD], in the beginning.

The Supremacy of the Son of God

[COLOSSIANS 1:15 KJV]

The Son[Jesus Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

[COLOSSIANS 1:16 KJV]

For in Him [Jesus Christ-The WORD] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.

[COLOSSIANS 1:17 KJV]

And He [Jesus Christ-THE WORD] is before all things, and by Him[Jesus Christ-THE WORD], all things consist.

It is clear that Jesus Christ and THE WORD are One and they are the same. The WORD was with GOD in the beginning, whenever God spoke, JESUS was embedded in THE WORD.

The answer can be found in the following Bible verses:

2 Timothy 3: 16-17:

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The above Scriptures reveal God's truth about the intentions of the Most High God when He gave man the Bible:

1. All the books in the Bible [the Scriptures, the WORD] are written through the inspiration of God. This confirms that the Bible is the WORD OF GOD!

2. The Bible is profitable. The time we spend in studying the Scripture-the Bible- THE WORD will bring forth immeasurable gain unto to our lives! Psalm 119:105 says: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” The WORD can help and guide us through life; it is a lamp to give us light, and a light to illuminate our paths. ... God's Word is the light that shows us what reality (truth) is; that is what reveals the real us.

3. The WORD is for:

[a] Doctrine: That is the Bible teaches you about God and His great Truths.

[b] Reproofs: The Bible reproves you each time you go astray from the ways of God and His Teachings.

[c] Correction: The Bible helps you refocus. If as a Christian you are going off track, the Bible helps in bringing you back on the right path. As stated above, Psalm 119:105 says that the Word, that is the Bible is a light unto your path. The Bible teaches you the right path to follow in your journey of life, where you find yourself walking away from the teachings of the WORD!

[d] Instructions in righteousness: When you experience [a], [b] and [c] above, you would have become blessed with divine knowledge, education and insights that would bring unto you, righteousness and perfection, which is what our GOD expects of you as a true Christian.

In this regard, Beloved do take note of the teachings of Christ in Mathew 5:44-48: [NIV].

44. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45. that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

47. And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

48. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

4. Knowledge of God through studying the Bible, in other words, keeping the WORD in your heart, meditating upon it, day and night and also practicalising it; experiencing true reproofs and corrections as stated above, brings you to a position of perfection, which is what the Father expects from you.

In order word, God gave us the Bible not only to be readers of the Word, but also to be doers of the Word, and this is what makes man perfect.

The Scriptures teaches us in the book of James 1:22-25 as follows:

²²Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. ²³Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror ²⁴and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. ²⁵But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

In addition, 1 Peter:1: 16 [NIV] says: ^"for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy". God expected His people Israel to be holy and set apart unto Him, and as part of the new creation in Christ. We are also exhorted to be holy, for God is holy. Indeed by grace through faith in Christ we have been given the indwelling Holy Spirit.. to empower us to live the godly lifestyle that God demands - a life that is set apart unto Him.. a life that reflects His character and attributes.

The truth indeed is the Bible was given to us to make us all, God's creation succeed in our respective life's journey. God expects us to be Christlike in all aspects of our lives.

With the existences of the powers of darkness on earth, where satan reigns, man needs a power greater and above the powers of darkness-🤬 powers, to overcome and live a fruitful life on earth to the glory of God. That power that is greater and above the powers of darkness which gives you victory, and makes you a conqueror and overcomer is the WORD of GOD!

II Peter 1:3[KJV] says: ^"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue".

For those in Christ, God's divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Like salvation, all of this was ours when we came to know God (through faith in Christ). As Peter will make clear, knowing God, the source of all life, [that is to say: knowing THE WORD] is the only path to being fully equipped to live as God calls us to do.

Glory be to God! I trust you have been deeply blessed by the Word of God above. The Word - knowing GOD, is the path to success, acquiring wisdom, being an overcomer and a conqueror, being truly blessed, and enjoying the love, power and grace of God. With the WORD planted in your heart, the Glory of God will always be upon you.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4. AMEN!

I’m wondering how many of you have never formally invited God to show you His unending Love and be merciful to you. As you read this, I’m guessing that there are several of you all round the world who’d like to do that for the first time.

It might surprise you to know that God has been waiting all your life for you to ask him to be merciful to you, to be in relationship with you. This is why Jesus came, died on Good Friday, and rose from the dead. His death paid the price for your sins and mine, so that if we would only ask, God would extend mercy to us.

It is time to give your life to Christ! God Loves you. He is the Horn of your Salvation

I’m going to invite you to pray this prayer. You can pray it quietly, under your breath, or you can sort of repeat the words to God in your mind. Or you could just say in your heart, “God, that’s what I’m praying right now.”

Here’s the prayer: Lord Jesus, I want to experience your mercy today. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for my sins. I admit I’m a sinner in need of a Saviour, and I’m inviting you to be mine right now. Come into my life. Forgive my sin. Live in me as my Leader from now on. I believe you are a God who is rich in mercy.

If you prayed that prayer, I’d like to rejoice with you about it, and give you some things that will help you live with Jesus and experience his mercy every day. So if you prayed that prayer, may I say CONGRATULATIONS!

When a man receives Christ, he receives a new life; he’s as one who never existed before: a new creation in Christ. This new life is the life of righteousness; superior to sin, the devil, death and hell. This new life is the reason you can live a righteous life. The reason men sin is that they have the nature of sin. That nature is supplanted by God’s nature of righteousness when a man is born again.

It wasn’t just a mere change that took place in you when you were born again; it was an actual replacement or supplanting of the life and nature of sin by the life of righteousness. Real Christianity isn’t the inclusion or impartation of another nature, but an actual recreation of the human spirit by God. You’ve come alive to God through the new birth. Thus, it’s natural for you to live right and fulfil the will of the Father.

Do you deeply understand and appreciate the true value of the Word of God - The Holy Bible? Have you ever taken time to ponder or meditate about the qualities of the Word of God? How do we see the Bible? Do you just look at the Bible as an ordinary book? Do you just consider the Word of God as the usual story book?

I could write a book on the divine value and qualities of the Holy Bible-The WORD OF GOD! Perhaps I will do that one day for I feel very deeply about this, but let me render today sermon as short as possible highlighting two or three verses in the Bible which will enlighten you a bit on the topic at hand and answer the preceding questions.

The Word of God is alive. It has got life, it is life, it lives and its very powerful. In fact it's Most Powerful. The Book of Hebrew 4:12 [NIV] says:

¹²For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The New King James version of the Bible says the "For the Word of God is living and powerful..." [Underlining Mine].

Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God, Who is traced to every page of the Written Word of God. All that He is, stands in stark contrast to all that you are. His penetrating eyes search out all the dross that is rooted in the fallen soul of man. His Word of Truth exposes everything in you that is not of Christ: your-self; your-hypocrisy; your-insincerity and your-unbelief.

The Word of God is living, because He is the living God, Who breathes life into you and in Whom are the WORDS of eternal life. The word of God is active. It is dynamic and miraculous. It is vigorous and lively because the Spirit of the living God is the eternal Source of power, that moved holy men of God to pass on His supernatural message to you - through the living Word of the living God.

The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword. It is like the razor-sharp blade of a double-edges sword, with the ability to cut into the deepest recesses of all that is spiritual and divide it from that which is soulical. It can differentiate between words, actions, thoughts, and motives that are looking to Jesus and words, actions, thoughts, and motives that have placed self on the throne of their life.

So penetratingly piercing is the Word of God that it has the ability to separate the soul of man from the born-again spirit, just as the butcher's razor-sharp blade slices the joint of meat from the marrow-bone. The Spirit of the living God is able to judge the deepest thoughts and intentions of the heart of every man.

Every spoken word from the lips of Christ are Life and Truth. All the written words of Scripture give wholeness and health to those who believe. How vital to take His Word deep into our hearts. God's purpose, for all who believe, is to conform you into the image and likeness of Christ, and the stark reality of Scripture is the contrast of God's amazing grace towards you... with your own rebellion. It contrasts His faithfulness with your unbelief.

The Word of truth exposes your deceitfulness and your unworthiness. It can cut your evil hearts to the quick just as the penetrating look of the Lord Jesus brought His denying disciple into the depths of distress and repentance. Gazing deep into the powerful Word of God is a penetrating, soul-searching exercise, for it cuts away any foolish boasting in yourselves and exposes any prideful perceptions of your own worthiness!

The action of the Word of God on the spirit and soul of every believer is a life-long process that continues to cut away all that is of the old man and conform the new life you received at Salvation into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an ongoing operation in the inner recesses of every believer, which will be fully and finally completed at the rapture/ resurrection of the Church, when you shed the last remnants of your old fallen self, through your transformation into the image and likeness of the lovely Lord JESUS.

Throughout this life, the Word of God in all its fullness, continues to lay bare the truth, in the inward parts of man, silencing forever your own weak protests and unjustifiable defences. The razor-sharpness of God's Word can crush, to the uttermost, all that is of your old fallen flesh, and bring the believer's old sin-nature to the end of itself.

It is in His gracious, loving-kindness that God brings each of you to face such depths, so that He can purge out the old Self and form in you the pure and holy nature of the Lord Jesus. The sharp; active; living; powerful; wonderful Word of God is used by the Holy Spirit, in each of your lives to convict, convert, comfort and conform you into Christ's likeness and to prepare you... during our lifetime, for the spiritual rest, eternal life and future glory, that is laid-up for you in heaven.

The Word of God will continue in each of your lives to be living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword as you sojourn in a land that is not your home. The Word of God will never stop piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, on this earthly journey to your heavenly home. It will never cease splitting the good from the evil, the heavenly from the world, right from wrong, faith from fear - and that which is of Christ from that which is not - for the word of God is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of every heart.

I implore you all in humility of heart, and patient endurance, to permit the testing work of the Holy Spirit to penetrate deeply into the depth of your being as He examines truth in the inward parts and lays bare the hidden thoughts and intentions within. You should embrace the everlasting truth that God's word is living and active, powerful and sharp... and allow Him to complete the good work He has started within. May you rejoice that God's WORD is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts deeply, to the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet - for your eternal good and for His greater glory.

⁶The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

The Word of God is very pure. The Holy Bible is without blemish! THE TRUTH - is the WORD of GOD! This is understandable because God is pure and perfect, therefore His Word must be pure.

The foundation and fabric of society was crumbling in David's day, as is happening in today. Twisted truth and double-speak is still the order of our day and age.. and the man of integrity is increasingly labelled as mean- minded, bigoted and resistant to progress. And like David we cry to the Lord to save us from the deceptive words and slanderous suggestions of the wicked.. and to intervene once again in the affairs of a race that is overflowing with evil, deception, propaganda, lies and demonic policies against the people of God.

God did not immediately remove the evils from the path of His faithful servant David - for delay in God's judgement on the wicked is a demonstration of His mercy and grace towards the children of men. The Lord desires that all men repent and are saved, and His delay is designed to give a greater opportunity for the wicked to renounce their evil ways, repent of their sins and turn to the Lord and be saved.

Our long suffering God Who strives with fallen man has opened a door of salvation, which invites all guilty sinners to look to Christ and live - but it can only be accessed by the Door of grace - through faith in Christ's sacrificial work at Calvary - and that Door is still open today, for Jesus is the Door and Jesus is the Way - and Jesus is the good Shepherd who is still seeking that which is lost.

This grace of God promises that all who turn from their wicked, prideful ways to Christ for Salvation will be declared righteous. The opportunity to turn from sin and to turn to Christ is still available, to all who will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. But God is not deaf to the cries of His children and one day soon He will judge sinful man for their evil deeds, for a good and righteous God must punish sin. His Word of truth outlines all the wrath and punishment that will one day be poured out on a Christ- rejecting sinful world.. that has chosen to refuse His gracious offer of salvation - and He will cut off all who have slandered the saints and practiced flattery and deception.

But can the Word of God be trusted? Could He renege on His precious promises? Would God go back on His Word of Truth and fail to deliver our longed-for Blessed Hope? And the answer is unequivocally NO, a thousand times NO! - for the words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth - purified seven times.

God's Word is perfect and flawless. God's character is righteous and holy. God's promises are steadfast and sure and His truth endures from one generation to another. He has placed each of His own in the cleft of the Rock, and covered us with His nail-pierced hands.

You would naturally have thought that the "Name of God"; the "Name of Jesus" is so divine, that His Name must come first and before all things of God. Going by worldly standards, when you are invited to deliver a speech at a seminar for instance, you are first introduced...your name is mentioned first. The moderator or master of ceremony after reading your profile briefly to the audience, goes along and says for instance: "Let make welcome of Professor James Harold Simpson..." [Name made-up without referring to no one].

This is then followed by a standing ovation. But can you imagine that our Most High God has set His Word above His Holy Name, [Amazing!] and nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Psalm 138:2 (NKJV) "I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for you have magnified Your word above all Your name." [Underlining Mine].word above all Your name."

Why has God magnified His Word above all His Name? A name is only as good as the word of the person behind that name. A man's name is esteemed when his word is good. A man's name inherently communicates the integrity of that man. This is why Proverbs 22:1 declares, "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches..." and Ecclesiastes 7:1 says, "A good name is better than precious ointment..." God's Name is magnified because He is faithful to keep His Word. The nature and character of God's Name is revealed through His Word. The Bible, the Word of God, reveals the God behind His Name. God's Name is to be praised because His Word is ever true! God's Name is holy.

Therefore God will not sanction by His Name what He has not sanctioned by His Word. Neither is He obligated to recognize our works done in His Name (Matthew 7:22-23). Thus we should never accept on face value what is done by people "in the Name of the Lord" or "in Jesus' Name" (Jeremiah 23:30-32).

We must test what is said and done "in His Name" by the Word of God (1 John 4:1). Why? It is because what God sanctions with His Name will never be inconsistent or contradictory with what He has revealed about Himself in His Word. God will confirm His Word done in His Name (Mark 16:20). Because God's Name is holy, He has chosen to sanctify it by magnifying His Word above His Name.

While it is still 'today' hold fast to the many precious promises of God - which are yes and amen in Christ and trust Him to fulfill all that He has promised on your account. His Word of truth can be trusted implicitly for His character is eternally holy, everlastingly righteous, unendingly good and perfectly pure - His mercy is endures forever.

His delay in the punishment of the wicked in the time of David concluded in joy and rejoicing - just as the multiplication of evil in our day will one day be halted in our lives too - and it will be to His praise and glory and for your eternal benefit. Let us hold fast to that blessed Hope that is set before you, for the Words of the LORD are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.

The Word of God bring forth Wisdom upon man.

God is the creator of language; architect of thought and author of speech. He is the originator of words, and through His locution pours forth the eternal wisdom within His heart, and God in His grace has equipped you with His holy Word and filled it to overflowing with light, life and hope.

The very first Word that was spoken by God at the birth of creation lays a great foundational principal that can be applied to every word of God, for the unfolding of His words gives light.

God spoke and there was light, and that light was the light of men, through Whom all families of the earth will be blessed, if they simply trust in the only begotten Son of God, the Word made flesh, Who paid the price for the sins of the whole world.

And through poetry and prose, prophecy and promises the Word of God was gradually unveiled to the fallen sons of Adam, revealing God’s plan of redemption through the gradual unfolding of His word of truth. And in this Psalm of praise to the God of language is a wonderful, poetic example of the might and magnificence of every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, as verse by verse, it unfolds a treasure-trove of truth that permits you a tiny glimpse into the very heart of God.

The Word of God is indeed a light to your path and the more we seek after the truth of His word the more the Lord opens up our understanding. But the words of wisdom that enlighten the teachable child of God conflict with the wisdom of this world. For the ways of the Lord are higher than those of the world and the wisdom in the mind of the Lord seems foolish to those that are wise in their own conceit.

Praise God that it is to the simple that He gives understanding and to the humble in heart that He unfolds His Word.

1 John 4:4; You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

2 Peter 1:3; According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Philippians 4:13; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

President Laurent Kabila of Congo, who deposed one of Africa's great dictators but then brought his country into even worse disarray, was shot and killed today, diplomats and associates said.

The president was shot by one of his bodyguards, ...

It was no ambush when a trusted bodyguard, in military uniform, entered the “White House” reception room in the presidential palace here Tuesday and shot President Laurent Kabila at point-blank range.

In the first and apparently only eyewitness account of Kabila’s death--which corroborates the official government version--senior economic advisor Emile Christophe Mota told Sunday of how the assassin calmly approached the Congolese leader and pumped three bullets into him as he sat discussing with Mota plans to attend an upcoming Franco-African summit.

The killer, whom local news reports have identified as Rashidi Kasereka, leaned over the president as if he was going to speak to him, recalled Mota, who government officials say is the only person known to have been in the room with Kabila when the attack occurred.

Caretaker is killed and EATEN by guard dog after untying it at the farm where he worked in India

· A Rottweiler mauled a farm caretaker in India to death and ate parts of his flesh.

· Mani Ram, 52, was untying the guard dog called Tiger after arriving at work.

· The dog turned on the man, choking him to death, before he was let off the lead.

· It took police four hours to capture the three-year-old dog who is now in custody.

CORAL SPRINGS -- A burly, exotic guard dog, one of several that frightened residents of an upscale neighborhood in recent days, mauled and killed its owner Friday afternoon, apparently in sight of the woman's young daughter.

Police said they found the dog, a Presa Canario named Zino, in the backyard. It was standing over the body of the mother of two.

"It looked like she had lacerations all over her body," police Capt. Rich Nicorvo said of the woman, identified by neighbors as Shawna Willey, 30. "It was quite surreal. There was quite a lot of blood."

The blackish-gray dog, a leash still around its neck, reacted aggressively when officers entered the backyard, so they shot and killed it, Nicorvo said.

Guard kills employer’s wife, leaves husband in coma

A guard at Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday, killed his boss’s wife with an axe and a knife and left his boss in a coma at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Mr Joseph Nicholas, Treasurer, Landlords/Tenants Association, Phase 2, AMAC Housing Estate, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja, yesterday. Nicholas said the incident happened on Saturday night.

He described the victim, Mr Ralph Wilcox, a retired Director at the Federal Ministry of Information, and his wife as extremely peaceful people who lived alone with their security guard.

A Ghanaian Facebook user shared the photo yesterday. He didn’t give details except for the caption: “The juju didnt work…hahaha..Na God Get power”.

Why Robots Can't and Wouldn't Replace Security Guards?

A robot has to deal with restrictions in terms of its functionality. That is, it can only function in the way that it was initially designed to work. As such, if there is a task that needs to be completed, but the robot has not been programmed to perform a said task, then it will be unable to complete it.
