The teacher facilitates learning and students learn through research and discovery.
Student-centered teaching methods shift the focus of activity from the teacher to the Students. Students become more active and engaged as participants and teachers are more like facilitators or coaches i.e. guide on the side versus sage on the stage approach.
In a student-centered approach to teaching, teacher and student roles are redefined. The teacher becomes a facilitator of learning instead of a dispenser of knowledge, and the students take more responsibility for their own learning.

 Defined simplistically as “school work at home and home work at school,” In other words, students learn outside of class and do homework in class. Watching videos outside of class so they can engage in more interactive activities during class time. Content is delivered differently---at home. Apply in class what is learned at home. Hands on in-class activities do more for learning than an in-class lecture. Content is learned before coming to class. Class time becomes a workshop. It’s all about more time for application!
