As more trouble starts to stir from the puppy, Arthur has to quickly learn how to control the puppy. He has to be responsible with the help of his sister D.W. before his parents decide to take the puppy away. His dad also brought him some cough drops. As Arthur kept on getting special treatment, D.W. came up with an idea. She covered herself with spots! Her grandma gave her a bath, but that ended up ruining her plan! All her spots washed away! The following day D.W. invited her friend to the circus because Arthur still wasn't feeling well. Luckily, that night Arthur was feeling well enough to go out to eat with the family. As the family got read the next day for the circus, they waited for D.W. to walk downstairs. When she got to the bottom of the stairs, they couldn't help but laugh and be surprised! As soon as she left the house the twins went crazy! They ran around and got into so much trouble you wouldn't believe! After telling the twins many times to get ready for bed, Arthur comes up with a brilliant idea. He sits them down and reads them a story. But not just any story, a scary story. He used all the resources he could find and he made a gift you wouldn't believe! This Treat Timer isn't like any toy, it's expensive. In order for Arthur to afford it, he has to brainstorm ways to make money. When brainstorming causes him to day dream during an important time in school, he has to stay after school. While walking home from school he sees a job he can do! He talks with his neighbor and plans to help with a very big task. After all of his hard work, he slowly and happily walks home. Before he knows it his mom points out the weirdest thing! Arthur has to use hard work and responsibility to complete a perfect job. After going to the store to buy the Treat Timer, he heads home.
