Tinder is an online dating and a social networking app that that individuals use to communicate with strangers in order to meet romantic partners and go on dates(Tinder (App), 2022. In 2012, Sean Rad created the original version of Tinder during a hackathon hosted by the business organisation hatch labs. (Tinder (App), 2022. There are several unique features that tinder may offer, such as linking with social media accounts. With this feature, users can link their tinder app with their most recent social media accounts and details, eliminating the need for them to manually type out information to share.(Khan, 2022).

Swiping right or left this feature allows users to swipe right or left while using tinder in order to match up with someone that's close to users current location for a conversation. Basically, it's the equivalent of asking someone out instead of asking them out in person for a date. Swiping right indicates that you approve of someone's profile, while swiping left indicates that you disapprove. In essence, if a user swipes right on someone's post that they find beautiful and if the person receiving it does the same, it will match them both up for a one-on-one conversation. However, if the user receiving it swipes left, it will not match them both up for a one-on-one conversation. Due to the fact that this feature was the most contentious one when Tinder initially began, it took two people showing mutual interest for a relationship to emerge. (Vicente, n.d.)

I decided to research Tinder because I was curious to learn more about its well-known features, such as its service that serves as a gateway for relationships, but in truth, it might have some advantages and disadvantages.

Even though tinder has been around since its launch year, which dates back to 2012, many reports, such as vida select, have reported that tinder is still a popular dating app, especially for singles who are looking for relationships close to where they live. Users all over the world still use it on a daily basis because it's a free dating app that first introduced its unique key feature, which is only known as the swipe right or swipe left, which still remains as popular trend even after after a decade therefore even other new dating apps nowadays copy that feature.
