The use of guidelines, norms etc and a mixture of possible ways to join such as in person or online can allow collaboration within your local community or educators across the world. 
The influx of input from fellow educators and professionals that can assist in the best pedagogical approaches to integrating technology into the classroom is enormously beneficial.
