I had to try different ways to create this shape because of the angles of the shape that I needed to make. I learned how to rotate and change the direction of the individual in order for me to be able to do this. The outer shell showed more difficulty while trying to make a more geometric spherical shape. I tried to create a shape combining the image 3 and 4 in the brainstorming column. It took a lot of trial and error using different tools where I ultimately decided to change the design and rather than make it spherical, make it more box like. I think this gives the overall design a more contemporary aspect to it than the original design had. When 3D printer of cut out using the laser printer I will connect the shapes with a clear string to give it the feeling like the shapes are floating and will then hang from a ceiling. The strings will also add to the shadow that is already created by the different shapes. The actual light will be inside the inner shape (held up by the string). Because there will only be one light source this will be less functional and meant as more of a design piece.
