Gender Stereotypes, I thought, were absurd since men and women are equal. Although men can do things that other women cannot, women can also do tasks that men cannot; this makes them equal. I've always despised the outdated standard stereotypes that boomers continue to spread because they influence how we act, dress, and think about such social issues. Not just that, but it has the high potential to influence our views, values, and actions in terms of decision making. In other words, it limits everyone's ability to make decisions and have a voice because society demands them to be what society believes they should be.

All I have to say about the video is that it was really real, and I completely agree with its message, as racism and discrimination occur all over the world. This scenario is also very common, but it is difficult to eradicate. It was really unfortunate that they discriminated against other strands and made jokes and memes about it. If nothing is done, this issue can only get worse, so I'm glad this video supports ending discrimination. Though, there were claims that college exams would mostly consist of subjects or lessons from the STEM strands, which made me sad because I was on the HUMSS strand. We student can do anything about this yet this issue is relevant not among students but to colleges.

It's surprising that even teenagers fight or express themselves when it comes to the topic of men's and women's gender roles. We know that since then, there has been gender discrimination. Especially with women, since they believe that women are weak, modest, and should remain at home. It's great that young people are fighting for what people need to hear about the roles of a woman and a man. It's actually irritating that most people do not treat men and women fairly. And they used to say that women should only remain at home and do house chores and that is what women are supposed to do. In terms of HIV, all I know here is that it comes from unprotected sex. But when I watched the video, I was enlightened on its causes. I totally agree with the video especially with the ongoing issue of men and women nowadays. People expect masculinity from a male and femininity from a female. There are many barriers that hinder individuals to explore themselves more. Being able to value acceptance would be a great key to avoid these commotions. Everyone has flaws, some want to be something else, and others want to be different, it is up to us to accept each other and not assign them to their gender roles.

I want to remind everyone of the Bible verse of Galatians 5:14-15, "Love others as you love yourself." Before I, myself, even began my first year as a senior high school student, I have already been hearing from different people how different each strands are in terms of difficulty. To be honest, I used to see such things as mere talks and nothing more. This changed though when I, myself, is now a senior high school student myself. Back then I see no wrong with such words or such talks, but now, I see just how discriminating it is and belittling it is to make comparisons and polls of which strand is harder and whatnot. Each strand is special and unique and is just as difficult as any of it's counterparts. So let us not compare strands with our strands or with other strands as we ourselves do not know what the students of such strands are experiencing, which is also why we must not let other people do such acts with out strands as they too do not know what we are going through.

Feminism is deeply rooted in our society. Since ancient times, the inequality between opposite sexes has been evident. An example of this is the way of life of the Greeks. In their society, only a man or a boy has the right to access education and receive formal guidance, while women are only taught to be desired housewives and to learn the basics of housekeeping. Another manifestation of this can be seen in early American period. Where women are not given the right to vote and elect public figures or governmental employees. This was only changed on the year 1920 when the 19th amendment was passed, thus, giving the women the right to vote. In terms of freedom, it can be said that in our times, the social status of women has been elevated greatly. But, this is not enough yet. Many countries are still against giving privileges to women. this unjust treatment to the opposite sex can only be amended when it is clarified that in order for a society to thrive, not only the men are needed, but also the women. They should be given rights that should be theirs. They should also be allowed access to resources that will prove to be beneficial for them. Women should be given what is rightfully theirs.

Before, I didn't know much about feminism and thought that it was only for women, but as I grew older I realized it is an important matter because it not only affects women but the overall gender criticisms. If y’all know the movie “moxie”, it is about sexism and basically about discrimination against women. Some high school students are being abused by their classmates who are boys and sometimes making fun of them. The protagonist finds a way to help then along the way, she finds friends who support women empowerment. Being closeted is as hard as not breathing for a long time. This has been my struggle ever since I have enlightened myself. Since I was a kid I was constantly reminded that I am a boy and therefore I should act like one. I have also seen how they react to people who act contrary to their gender. I was Grade 5 when I felt this strange feeling. I have realized that I have drawn more attraction to boys rather than girls, but I wasn't sure yet what this feeling exactly was. Then I got to Grade 7, and I slowly started to realize what it was. I also saw the consequences of being like this, which made me regret and question myself. I also thought of taking my own life when my parents confronted me that what I am is a sin. I felt invisible. I just wanted to disappear. And until they keep reminding me that this isn't right. I just wish this isn't how it should be. I have always perceived it better to come out as lesbian than as gay, but by now I have realized that it's just as hard. It's hard keeping up this "straight" facade of mine. Why can't I wear dresses and not be judged? Why do I have to be closeted when there's a big world out there? I just wish that my family would accept me someday.

Some people say that HUMSS is the easiest strand because it doesn't have a lot of math unlike the other strand and that's the reason why I take this. However, I have realized that math is part of our life so HUMSS strand also has this. I can say that it is difficult since my grade in stats was the lowest and it is not like what people said that it is easy because sometimes, I'm crying due to the fact that I can't answer math problems hahahahaha. Someone told me that if a person is a HUMSS student, they should be good in public speaking and excellent in english language but if not they must take the other strand. This statement makes me question myself because the subject that I hate the most is english and the thing that I'm afraid of doing is talking in front of people so why am I on this strand??? At first, I didn't think that what other people were saying could cause in discriminating the strands because I thought that it was only a joke. Little did I know, they are judging and belittling people as well as their strand. This makes me realize that we, people, should not compare the strands because they are truly different from one another and they have their own purpose in the life of the students. I really liked this webinar it is so engaging and informative. Also, their topic is very interesting since this is a serious factor that should be addressed, especially in this generation. Another factor is that, although there is no cure for HIV at this time, there are drugs and treatments that can weaken the virus until it is undetectable. To be honest, I feel like an outcast. I am an closeted non binary person, and I'm commonly mistaken as either being a lesbian or bisexual. I had my mom and grandmother mourn for my hair when I decided to cut it. I had some guidance personel and some teachers scold me for sporting a masculine haircut.

The haircut, as small as it is for many people, made me confident as hell. And with COVID being a little 🤬, I'm experiencing dysphoria to the point of dissociation sometimes. I hate being in the closet so much, but I feel like I have no choice but to stay here until I'm old enough..

In terms of SOGIESC 101, I’ve learned from the webinar that we cannot divide each other by our gender or sexes as for at the end of the day, we are all HUMAN. On one hand, HIV and AIDS is something that should never be considered as the center of jokes. It is a communicable virus yet it won’t transmit quickly from one person to another. Therefore, a person who’s diagnosed with HIV or AIDS must never be discriminated. Through the webinar implemented by the group of HUMSS students, it will decrease the rate of teenage pregnancy as they shared information with regards to the unprotected sexual activity and it therefore lessen the cases of HIV and AIDS not only in the Philippines, but also all over the world.

I experienced so much about this that my classmates only befriended me when I was in high school, because they said I was weak and that eventually they would bring me down. But despite their hardship to overthrow me, I did not give up and I proved to them that if I am not a woman, they will be able to overthrow me. I love how the guess speakers voice their opinions on how they received criticism in their chosen strand. As an Humanista, I also received discrimination that being in this kind of strand is way easier because socializing is all that you need. Being a Humanista is a fulfilling strand that makes you enhance more your communication skills and critical thinking. Even though we don’t have a problematic type of computation or other concepts that focuses on math, that is not a reasonable claim to judge our capabilities as a student. As the school year progresses, underestimating strand and its students becomes normal rather than finding feasible solutions to obstruct the predicament. However, this should come to an end and be settled. Being discriminated against is not easy, strand shaming among senior high school students may result in low self-esteem and poor academic performance. But the only thing I learned, every strand has its own capability, major and strength that can help you to enhance your skills. HUMSS is not as easy as everyone presumes owing to the fact that it will challenge individuals to be better, to be a great public servant and genuine communicator.

Growing up in a religious environment, I was taught all the gender stereotypes that you can think of. Such as "guys do not and should not cry" and "women belong to the kitchen". My dad also has this view that men should lead the house and women should always be submissive to his husband. As a kid, I certainly did not think that there is something wrong with it, but later on I realized how dangerous these stereotypes are.

The video very much reminds me of my experience of how I navigated myself in these aspects of gender barriers, and differentiating rational and religious beliefs. Being enlightened in this subject also gave me the courage to accept my sexual orientation.

I am happy that more and more students are paying attention to this topic, especially that the youth are exposed to social media and is easily influenced by many dangerous stereotypes. I hope everyone can continue what they had started - and that is to give enlightenment in this matter.

For I always surf the Internet, I sometimes encounter rude and insensitive people that always debate that men should do this and women shouldn't do that. Many people engage in sexism or sexual discrimination and condone derogatory terms or slurs which are considered offensive to the people most in the LGBTQ+ community. This is why I am happy that you choose this topic to educate the people to cause these kinds of concept does not include in the curriculum :D

I am very much aware of the situation of an HIV positive person because at such a young age, I had done my research on it. Back then, HIV was still a taboo topic and was used as an insult to the LGBT community. I remember my Social Studies teacher back then blaming the gay community for bringing upon such "disease" because according to her, if the way they are having sex is right, nothing bad will come out of it.

First of all, I commend this group for bringing up such serious and taboo topic. I can tell that it was not an easy topic to tackle, especially to the youth. I sincerely congratulate you all.

Such views in this matter should be resolve because HIV is not an excuse for bringing upon homophobia to anyone. An HIV positive person is no different from a normal HUMAN and I think everyone should KEEP THAT IN MIND.

When I was in grade 10, my friend laughed at me when I shared to her I am choosing HUMSS as my strand in SHS. Why? because according to her, all students of HUMSS are DUMB (Bobo as she would call it). This is because she thought that the HUMSS strand does not have any subject related to mathematics. Regardless, I was not affected by her opinion and still pursued this strand for this is what I love, and IM GLAD I FOLLOWED MY HEART.

First of all, I would like to call on those people who think students on HUMSS are dumb. NO WE ARE NOT. We can construct a 500 word essay on any topic in less than an hour, something which you probably can't do :) and btw, math is not nor will it ever be the basis of intelligence and there are many kinds of intelligence. You are old enough to know that, but you don't and that's pretty telling.

I am so thankful for this webinar because it has given me so much new knowledge. I will never forget that the guest on the webinar said that "HIV is not a disability. Yes, it can kill our immunity but never our humanity," it really stuck in my mind because we don't consider a person with HIV to be different but to love let’s them and treat them as a person.

As I joined the webinar about HIV awareness, I was amazed at how they changed their well-being after knowing that they are positive in HIV. In addition, I am amazed at how they turned out to be role models to other people. Lastly, it really makes me happy to see them conquering their battles.

I am not a feminist, however, I agree that women should have the same rights men are having in the society today. I also agree that WOMEN DOES NOT EXIST ONLY FOR MEN'S SATISFACTION. I'm a grade 11 student already and before when I was in grade 10, I was confused about what track will I be taking when the time comes. And I decided that I will be taking the strand HUMSS at that time. Many people see it as a strand that is easy to take rather than the other strands. Strands are unique from one another and it's up to the student to take up which one suits best. It's just sad that people think that there's a hierarchy between the strands, when in fact, they're all the same. Just because you took up STEM or ABM, which is basically considered as the "most successful" and "most acceptable" strand doesn't mean that the others are a waste. Personally, I would've chosen the Arts and Design track since I wanted to pursue the more artistic side in me, but I've had doubts and insecurities especially when I heard that it won't get me anywhere. If people just took out the stigma in their brains, there wouldn't be any inferiors and superiors.
