-Economies of scale can lead to the concentration of resources and power, which might not align with sustainable environmental practices. Large-scale operations can be more challenging to manage sustainably and may have a greater environmental footprint. 

-Externalities refer to the unintended effects of economic activities on third parties who are not directly involved in a transaction. Profits that carry out social benefits are better because they take into account positive externalities. These profits contribute positively to society beyond the immediate transaction and have a broader impact. 

This is not actually the first time I came across this concept because in the past courses I have taken, might it be a major, a minor, or an elective, I was able to learn three things that collectively give rise to this concept. First is CSR, a strategic business model that centers on prioritizing the 3Ps (Profit, People, and Planet), second is social value, which refers to generating long-term significant impacts on external stakeholders, while achieving profitability and financial success. You can say that this is more of an initiative to be committed to giving back. Lastly is social impact that points towards the direct outcome of having conscious, socially responsible and valuable business decisions. 

2. My second insight came from a mere statement under one of the shortest sections of the documentary which was labeled as life changes. However, I personally believe that this portion of the video is impactful, especially at a time where more and more Filipino families are living below the poverty threshold, wherein they can barely meet their basic food needs. It says in the documentary that, “Having children, and it's probably true for many parents, is when you start to really think about, well, I want my baby to grow up healthy; how am I going to do that?” Though the succeeding statements center more on worry about the labels and genetic modification of food and where food comes from, I believe it still wants us to go back to the reality of poor living conditions experienced by people and families across the globe. But, it also subtly emphasizes to us how businesses and companies, through their decisions, their vision, and programs, contribute to alleviating poverty or at least improving others’ living conditions.

3. My third insight was inspired by the topic on seed companies. In a nutshell, it stated how there were no seed companies back in the day, wherein you cannot purchase seeds from big companies with the exception of small seed companies scattered across the location, which upholds the vision of wanting to preserve biodiversity through the different kinds of varieties of seeds. This made me go back to my realization that despite the heavy impact and influence of MNCs on society and economy, we must also realize how crucial MSMEs are. More often than not, the impact of MSMEs are taken for granted by a lot of people, even our own government. However, it is important for us to keep in mind that the MSME sector plays a crucial role in developing our economy given that it contributes to creating employment, GDP, and exports. Not only that, most MSMEs are socially responsible and would operate with a mission to significantly impact people and society by incorporating their advocacies in their business, similar to how the small seed companies in the 1840s were wanting to preserve biodiversity.

-The importance of job satisfaction goes beyond financial rewards; intrinsic motivation and a sense of purpose contribute significantly to overall life satisfaction. 

-Ethical leadership is essential in business. Leaders should prioritize doing the right thing over simply doing what they can to maximize profits. 

However, if I were to continue with this venture, like what TS Designs believes in, I will acknowledge my employees as the most valuable asset by giving them what they deserve as laborers. After all, the more productive employees are, the more a business becomes efficient. Hence, creating a nurturing company culture where both the business and the employees are able to enjoy an improved work environment with better incentives. Like what the documentary emphasizes, I want to initiate a business that upholds a social and environmental obligation. 

2. Growing up, I have always believed that the reason why I needed to earn a college diploma, to start a business, or to get a job is to become successful, in a sense that I am rich in assets. However, from the documentary, I gained a better understanding that being successful is not only in terms of monetary wealth, but rather by being able to serve people, societies, and communities through applying what I have learned in college or through a socially and environmentally responsible business venture. It is a sad reality that a person would start his or her own business with gaining financial success as the primary goal. However, it is best for us to realize that now is the time for us to not only go after the profit but also go after the significant and positive changes we could create on people and the planet. 

3. As someone who advocates for a green economy, I value the importance of the constant need for improvement, like what was mentioned in the documentary. However, there is a notion that technological advancements are not always advantageous in a sense that while it can contribute to efficiency, it can destroy the environment. But, improvements should not always be negative in such a way that it can worsen or cause pollution, environmental destruction, or ecological scarcities. We can always go for sustainable innovations, which could help us build a more sustainable, greener future centered on social inclusivity and responsibility, resource efficiency, and healthier environment.

We see street children in this highly urbanized city. Even around Fidel Reyes and Agno. Sometimes it’s the same familiar faces. This made us ponder what exactly is the first step in addressing the situations of these street children, because it seems to be as if it’s a constant thing, and we doubt DSWD or other NGOs are even able to account for the sheer number of these individuals and how their situations vary. making it all the more complex.

Most people treat them as "invisible". Isang angat lang ng kamay, we simply signal that we don’t have any change, they’ll get out of our hair. Sometimes people even see them as nuisances. The sad reality is that many people simply don't care about their actual situations that keep them constrained in their situations and the gaps in the policies that are currently deemed as solutions for street children. What keeps them in the streets; is it out of their own volition? Do they answer to a sinister individual or organization? Is it simply because the government does not care? Or is it all of the above?
