"Integrating instructional and intervention support so that systemic changes are sustainable and based on CCSS-aligned classroom instruction."

I choose this quote because I think it sums up the mission behind MTSS. Making changes to the system and modify it to meet the needs of the students is the ultimate goal. The core of how educators meet the individualized needs of the student by integrating the instruction with differentiated support and effective strategies to help guide their progress. Interventions are a crucial component in improving student learning to align with CCSS.

"MTSS includes enabling a paradigm shift for providing support and setting higher expectations for all students through intentional design and redesign of integrated services and supports, rather than selection of a few components of RtI and intensive interventions."

“Challenging all school staff to change the way in which they have traditionally worked across all school settings.”

This quote is meaningful and answers the essential question “How does the state of California envision support for all students at the school and district levels,” because it explains how MTSS challenges all school staff to change. I found it meaningful because change is hard for many people, especially for all school staff who have been doing things the same for many years. Making changes is challenging but when it comes to making changes that help all students, the change is meaningful and well worth it.
