I intend to create a few pieces of music here over the next few weeks, ultimately finishing at least one song. While many of these won't sound professional yet, I will try to use this song as an example of work I could sell to an artist, emulating (at a slower speed) my future process of making beats.

In my recent search to improve my mixes I have begun to search beyond Logic and Ableton's stock plugins. Valhalla has some great reverb and delay plugins, the latter of which is fully manual and has pushed me toward learning what each dial really does. In pushing the delay to only around 17 ms, I can create a sort of doubling and "cushioned sound" (which might not sound as great on studio monitors as it does on my speakers so I will have to check). I am learning that reverb and delay have the ability to transform otherwise "stock" sounds and that many of the songs I listen to employ these effects at rates much higher than I assumed. I will submit a small research article I have been reading on this matter.

Here's another small loop I formulated on a new song. This time I have used a piece of physical gear, my "new" Casiotone MT400v found by my Dad's friend. It has a neat bass function, which works in the lower registers once turned on and sounds very distinctive in my mind. Hooking it up is an easy process, routing through the keyboard's Phones (rather than Line-In) is still an option, given the fact I have a split adaptor. This allows me to record in Stereo. In retrospect this was unneeded, as given it is working in lower frequencies, it is generally a better idea to work in mono so as to not get any clashing frequencies.

I routed through my audiobox, then into Logic.

The reason I am detailing this process is that physical gear is still somewhat new to me. By utilising this older technology I can get more of a grips on hardware rather than being stuck in programmes.
