Q3:

The effect of the descriptive details Murton uses to describe the "strong men" in the poem is that the reader gets the impression that these men are very determined to get the buildings built no matter what even if the work is really hard and dangerous. For example the text states that '' So riveters ring, and hot bolts fly, and strong men toil, and sweat ... and die...'' This shows that the job is very dangerous but the strong men work hard and do it patiently. Also in the text it states "But men are many and men are bold and what is risk when the stake is gold.” This shows that when the strong men risked their life, they still get what they earning's .

The effect of the descriptive detail Murton uses is that the workers will get it built no matter what. For example the text states,” But men are many and men are bold and what is risk when the stake is gold.” This shows that the men work until the building is finished. Another example is that the text states,” Men toil, and sweat and die but the city’s towers grow straight and high.” This shows that the men will get the buildings done even if they die doing it. In the poem it states, “And hot bolts fly, and strong men toil.” This evidence shows that their work is risky..
