We were given a PowerPoint to help us understand the styles of music videos so we could chose one for our own video. The powerpoint was helpful as it gave me ideas and a clear understanding to the styles of videos. We looked at some videos online for some inspiration and then we started to create our visual mindmap on padlet. We had to think about what actors we would have, what costumes they would wear, equipment and the props we would need. I decided that my video was going to be a romantic story which involves 2 actors, a girl and a boy. I decided to not have any budget for my video and that we would not need any consumes and not many props. We made sure everything was done. We then got to think about who we would like in our groups for our production teams. I chose Stephen for my camera operator because he has his own camera and knows how it works. We did this just incase we got too scared to do it on Monday so we had a back up. I thought this was a good idea as sometimes its nerve-wracking talking in front of a lot of people. We actually managed to get two actors to film with us. We filmed about half of our video but then today decided to get a new boy actor because our one let us down. We re-filmed all of the footage we took with the old actor. On Thursday we will carry on and hopefully finish filming. We took the same shots but at different angles so that we have more shots to choose from when it comes to editing the video. I was directing today and I decided to film some footage outside. I am very happy that we started because we were behind but we are on target now to getting it done on time. Brad is the main editor but we have all been helping out a little bit. The aim for today was to start editing and we did. At first we couldn't find the files that we needed so it set us back but we managed to find them in a folder on a computer. We started to edit and then realised that we have lost some footage so we had to re-film it was a pain because we needed to get our actors again. From this i have learned that we should save all of our footage in one place so none of it goes missing. We solved the problem by re-filing the footage we lost.
