I liked when Michael Eric asked if they could ask Santa to bring Carley back for Christmas. The family dinner at the end of the book was great because Carley really felt like she was part of the family.

my favorite part in the story is when Carly actually gets along with the family because everything gets nice in the end. Carly starts as a jerk but ends up being a Murphy but in the end sad but true Carly leaves. I wish that in the end the family gets back together. i also like when Carly met up with her mom because the story gets really good. I think that Carly still should be with the Murphy"s because the family she is with is just messed up.

My favorite part of this book is at the end, when Carley goes with her mom. I like this part of the book because the author went with a more realistic conclusion. Most story writers are all about rainbows and sunshine, but Lynda Hunt went down a completely different path. Although, I do still disapprove. I don't happen to like Carley's mom. Sure, she did help Carley in the end. She still did grab Carley's leg though. She was abused by Dennis in the path; she should have known what he would have done. He also came to their home intoxicated; their brains should have went off. Though, Carley's mom did not beat on Carley that night in any way. So, it was more reasonable, that Carley went to Vegas with her mother. I personally think that since all of the bad things happen, they should stay in Conneticut, and start a new life.

I have mixed feelings about my favorite part: when Carley defends her brother against Jimmy Partin. I liked how she stood by him and risked punishment. It was clear evidence to the boys how much she cared about them. It made her feel like a real Murphy. I know that her actions were completely right, but Jimmy wasn't actually hurt, just embarrassed.
