There are three types of convergent boundaries. Oceanic-oceanic, continental-continental, and oceanic- continental. Oceanic-oceanic is when to oceanic plates come together and the denser one goes under the other. A continental-continental is when two continental boundaries converge and they both go up. With an oceanic-continental boundary the oceanic goes under the continental boundary and helps with seafloor spreading.
