Some of the key factors in assertive communication would be honesty, simplicity, directness, respect and more. It is important for us to be honest to children and to not trick them into following instructions and commands. We should also be simple and direct when speaking to children so that it is easier for them to understand. Some factors in assertive communication are respect, flexible, empathy and more. Respectful adults confront children privately and focus on improving behaviours. It is 
important to be flexible as well as assertive with the right approach as adults can better handle children with problems and mete out fair and just disciplinary actions. Empathy in communication is effective which involve sincere understanding and caring.
