The most important reason for the rise of Josef Stalin is the non-disclosure of Lenin's Testament. This is because it was the root cause of his rise to power, and if Lenin's Testament was revealed to the public, Stalin would have been rid of any chance to rise to power. If it was public, Stalin would remain as Secretary General, and still had the authority to place his allies in the Party, which aided his rise to leadership.

The most important reason for the rise of Stalin is non-disclosure of Lenin's testament. This is because if Lenin's Testament was made public, Trotsky would have been the successor of Lenin rather than Stalin due to the negative comments made by Lenin. Even though the non-disclosure of the testament felt like the only right decision at that point of time, it was a successful stepping stone for Stalin because this benefited Stalin as he would then have equal opportunities as other potential successors of Lenin, which then he eliminated these political opponents to rise to power.

The most important reason for the rise of josef stalin is trotsky's unpopularity in the Politburo. This was because if Trotsky was popular amongst the other Party Members, Stalin would not have had the chance to undercut him in the first place since Trotsky would have been well loved amongst the party members. However since Trotsky was disliked and even hated by other members of the Politburo, Stalin was able to take advantage and push for his resignation which would allow him to eliminate his biggest rival as Lenin's successor. This had a long term impact on Stalins rise to being supreme leader since he was able to reach a higher end of power. As a result, other party memembers voted and supported for Stalin instead which brought him closer to supreme leader.

In my opinion, the most important reason for the rise of Josef Stalin would be his manipulations. Even though the Politburo did not disclose Lenin's testament and Trotsky's unpopularity, without Stalin's manipulations, he would not have been able to establish himself as supreme leader. Stalin pretended to be close to Lenin, so that it seemed that he was Lenin's potential successor. He too was in a position where he could influence his party members, for example, he was the Secretary General of the Communist Party, which gave him considerable power to appoint his supporters to importany posts. Furthermore, he exploited the ideological divisions by allying himself with both sides at different times, to eliminate his competition. By doing so, he managed to con and cheat the people closest to him in order to get the position of supreme leader of Russia. Therefore, I feel that the most important reason for the rise of Josef Stalin would be his manipulations.

The most important reason for the rise of Stalin was Stalin's manipulations because it was the trigger cause. Even though the non-disclosure of Lenin's testament and Trotsky's unpopularity in the Politburo did shape the way for Stalin's success, it was Stalin's own manipulative strategies that pushed him to become the supreme leader of the Soviet Union. Stalin pretended to have been close to Lenin to fool the party members in the Politburo that Lenin favoured him. His position as the Secretary General gave him an advantage over the others to remove and replace their allies with his own. This helped boost Stalin's support in the party and also shrank the support base of Leon Trotsky, Stalin's major competitor for leader of the Soviet Union. Stalin was so strategic and manipulative in slowly taking down his opponents that that led to his rise in power in the Soviet Union. Thus, Stalin's manipulations was the most important reason for his rise in power as that was the deciding factor.

The most important reason for the rise of Josef Stalin is Stalin's manipulation. This is because it is a trigger cause. If Stalin didn't use manipulation, he would not have seemed close to Lenin, which was a factor that made people believe he was the next successor of Lenin. Even if Lenin's testaments were not disclosed, or even if Trotsky was not popular, it was ultimately Stalin's manipulation that got him what he wanted, by killing off his competitiors and making himself seem close to Lenin.

The most important reason for the rise of Stalin was Stalin's manipulations as His manipulations were the trigger cause for his rise to power as due to his manipulations he paved his path to power by not only making himself appear close to Lenin but by also discrediting Trotsky and singling him out. By appearing close to Lenin he made it seem that he was the rightful heir to Lenin's Throne Trotsky's unpopularity in the Politburo was a contributing factor to Stalin's rise as he was exploiting Trotsky's differences in thoughts and thus Trotsky's unpopularity was only a catalyst for Stalin's rise. The non disclosure of lenins testament also acted as a catalyst for Stalin's rise to power as no one was able to see Stalin's true intentions as the testament was not revealed to the general public. Therefore although both Trotsky's unpopularity and the non disclosure of Lenin's testament were major reasons for Stalin's rise to power they were merely catalysts to his rise To power.

The most important reason for the rise of Josef Stalin is Trotsky's unpopularity in the Politburo. This is because Lenin's potential successors all feared that Trotsky is the most serious threat to their power. He was Lenin's right hand man and was the head of the Red Army, which lead the Army to victory in the civil war against the Whites and support from the Red Army made him powerful.
As Trotsky believed in other ideas of running the country, such as "permanent revolution", Trotsky was seen as straying away from the Party's decisions. Stalin was able to use Trotsky's unpopularity to resign and expel him from the Party. Stalin gained support from other members of the Party as he had removed their greatest rival. Thus, Trotsky's unpopularity in the Politburo was the root cause that pushed Stalin to rise up to power.
